He's an American entrepreneur, author, philanthropist, and prominent thought leader on financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and financial dignity. He’s one of Atlanta Business Chronicle's “Most Admired CEOs”; American Banker Magazine's “Innovator of the Year; Inc. Magazine honorable mention in World’s 10 Top CEOs; Time Magazine 1994- 50 Leaders for the Future; and Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “100 Most Influential Atlantans." 

He's Founder, Chairman & CEO, Operation Hope,  the largest not-for-profit, best-in-class provider of financial literacy, financial inclusion and economic empowerment tools and services in the United States; and Chairman and CEO of Bryant Group Ventures and The Promise Homes Company, the largest for-profit minority-controlled owners of institutional-quality, single-family residential rental homes in the US.

He's served as an advisor to the last three sitting United States Presidents, from both political parties and responsible for financial literacy being adopted as actual policy in the U.S. federal government. He's the only private American citizen to inspire the renaming of a building on the White House campus: The U.S. Treasury Annex Building renamed the Freedman's Bank Building, whose legacy became the narrative of the work of Operation HOPE: To help all people in the ‘Invisible Class’ to become fully integrated into our nation’s economy. 

He inspired a commemorative marker honoring the final flight of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to Memphis, Tennessee on April 3, 1968, to be installed at the Memphis International Airport -- 49 years to the day of Dr. King’s final flight on Eastern Airlines Flight 381 from Atlanta. 

He is a  member of the founding class of The Forum of Young Global Leaders, a founding member of the Clinton Global Initiative co-founder of Global Dignity, member of the OECD Expert Network, and member of the World Economic Forum. He is a LinkedIn Influencer, and a contributor to Huffington Post, THRIVE Global, Black Enterprise, and guest co-host for SquawkBox on CNBC.

He has received hundreds of awards and citations for his work, including, Oprah Winfrey’s Use Your Life Award and the John Sherman Award for Excellence in Financial Education from the U.S. Department of Treasury. Additionally, JB and Operation HOPE were made a permanent part of the Smithsonian African-American Museum in Washington, DC. and on April 15, 2019, the City of Atlanta City named April 15th John Hope Bryant Day.
