This week The Two Rivers Café welcomes the prodigiously talented Bristol-based Alex Garden - fiddler, guitarist and BBC Young Folk Musician of the year runner-up.
Two Rivers is a meeting place for creative minds who work with music, hosted by composer and lyricist Andrew Fisher - that’s him over there at the piano pulling off a look few previously thought possible. He talks to Alex about what drew him to folk music as a teenager, and performing the creative hire-wire act that is improvising live. You’ll also hear two exclusive new collaborative pieces, as each arranges the other’s composition.
You can see Alex playing his version of Andrew's piece here: https://youtu.be/7U45L7B2Upw
