In Part Two of this two-part series, I’m giving you the 5-step formula to setting heartfelt intentions in this new year. These intentions are without the pressure, without the rigidity, and WITH the REAL reasons for what you want.
I use a simple example, such as, “I want to lose weight this next year,” (a common one I hear often), and flip it into a driving force that has meaning, value, and positive impact.
We often think we want an outcome for the new year because of what our external world has taught us. But can we reflect on what we truly value? Can we reflect on how we will embody those values? Can we get rid of the need to “remove this from our lives,” or “start this new habit,” and allow ourselves to BE what it is that already lives within us?
Through a yogic lens, we will talk about setting Sankalpas for yourself as a way to flip your outcome-based goals into heartfelt resolutions. In this episode, I’ll give you the 5 prompts you need to work through in order to set intentions with meaning.

P.P.S In this episode, I reference the goal, “I want to lose weight/ten pounds next year,” and I want to stress that this, although a common goal, is one that feeds into pressure of weight and diet culture. I hope to unravel this narrative that we have into something more heartfelt, such as knowing that health is of value, not how much you weigh and what you do to get there.
