Today’s episode I am joined by Yasmine Say from Say Fitness Personal Training and we share a very similar past with our journeys and relationship with over training, under fuelling and hypothalamic amenorrhea/HA (loss of our menstruation).
Having both worked in the fitness industry for many years we cover societies pressures to look a certain way to feel accepted, by others and ourselves.
Pushing our mind and body to the limit we soon discovered being the ‘best’ & ‘healthiest’ versions of ourselves made us very unhealthy and had to delve into a journey of recovery from compulsive training and under eating for your bodies - time to go ALL IN!!
In this conversation we do touch on body dysmorphia, orthorexia and most importantly HA.
Hypothalamic amenorrhea - A commonly occurring medical condition in women of childbearing age under chronic stress, over training/athletes and eating disorders. Resulting in he body enters survival mode, periods stop, and women will not be able to reproduce and having a knock on effect on hormonal health.
