Great story! The manipulations and paranoia that cults live off of feel very real here. Things seem innocent enough, but they continue to prey on people's sense of propriety. They dictate terms that only feel reasonable coming from the place of authority they insert themselves into, isolating you from all the people that might call it out as wrong. It's very reminiscent of stories I've heard of Scientology.I've got no real complaints. I think the acting and production are solid. It's a bit slow-paced, but that's not a bad thing in my book.
Absolutely wild to me that this podcast hasn't gotten more attention and acclaim. It's a dystopic story, upsetting as hell and incredibly well done. The cast, script and production are all equally impressive, crafting a very immersive experience. I do think it's a bit over the top but the issues it confronts are very real, and the extreme lengths of the story serve to bring them into stark focus.
I've heard it described as I Think You Should Leave crossed with interdimensional cable from Rick and Morty, and though it leans more on the former, that's the most apt description I can think of. One of the funniest things I've ever come across in any medium.
