The Fisherman and His Wife was originally a German fairy tale collected by Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm, also known as the Brothers Grimm. It is similar to the fairy tale written in 1833 by Alexander Pushkin. We have adapted our story from the version retold by Clifton Johnson in The Book of Virtues. It is a story filled with lessons about greed and contentment. Bottom-line of this story: If we get too greedy we're likely to end up with nothing.Audio file: The Fisherman and His Wife
