In this October Energy Update 2022 we discuss the energy of October which is one of divine fire and revelation. During this month we are invited to engage in the alchemy of fire in order to recreate ourselves in truth, recreate our relationships in truth, and reclaim the sacred fire of divine love and eros. The fire element will continue to increase in strength as we approach the 2024 solar maximum. The question is how will we work with it? The invitation is to use the energy of fire in a constructive way through the process of alchemy. Fire is a powerful force for both creation and destruction. When skillfully used fire enables us to destroy what is dead and no longer true in order to create from a place of greater truth and authenticity. When fire runs amok or is used unskillfully we see a lot of senseless suffering, destruction, and death. Yet whether fire is used in a skillful or unskillful way, we can trust that we will get the experiences we need. What needs to be destroyed will be destroyed and something more true will eventually take its place. The only question is how much suffering will we need to endure in order to get there. The key to working with the fire element within us is to identify and cultivate our own desires. Desire is our inner fire. When we are attuned to it our desires can light our way and burn us clean of delusions. When we suppress our desires, fire will express itself in destructive ways. When we don’t tend our own inner fire it may go out, and we may find it difficult to find purpose, direction, and motivation in our lives. Our first responsibility to the self is to tend the fire of our own desires. To notice and allow them to run through us. That does not mean every desire is acted upon. Rather every desire is noticed, honored, and respected. Then the will is used to work with those desires in a constructive way. As we tend our own inner fire of desire this month we are being invited to recreate ourselves in truth. A lot of 2022 has been about bringing our life circumstances into greater integrity with truth. That starts with the truth of who and what we are, which can only be known when we are clear on our own desires. Because it is our desires that tell us what needs to be experienced in order to continue our spiritual evolution. When we ignore or deny our desires we are denying the divine within us the experiences it needs for evolution.
