Subpar writing, often hammy acting and a repugnant (not to mention implausible in every conceivable way) ending. Pity, too, because this could actually have been a rather good story, with a more competent writing and a less distasteful ending. Shock endings can ruin even a brilliant story; with a story like this they make what could have been a decent tale a waste of time. Again, it's a pity because it could've been ok.
