Rich in Radio begins in three.

0:03

Two and one. White Privilege is

0:05

just an acknowledgement that our world

0:08

is uneven. We live in a

0:10

country that unequal all human beings

0:12

share solidarity. All of us are

0:14

made in God's image equally and

0:16

therefore worthy of dignity. Were all

0:18

rune in rebellious against God and

0:21

therefore calls a Siberian said that

0:23

we all need the same as

0:25

see here it's time for wretched

0:27

Radio With Told Friel Weldon and

0:29

welcoming. And it is your favorite day

0:31

of the week. I hope it's your

0:33

paper. Do you the we get? Certainly

0:35

mine. It's a Witness Wednesday here on

0:37

Rigid Radio. I am Gb Higgs. Of

0:39

course I'm in the studio. What's going

0:41

on? The meantime is out there on

0:43

campus looking for some unsuspecting college students

0:45

to ambush with the Church of the

0:47

Gospel. And. Then I would you that

0:50

you do me. Why do you get to the

0:52

in the studio and turns out there doing the

0:54

lord's work like somebody is. My grandmother used to

0:56

say somebody to get to stay around and soak

0:59

up all the body or so. That's what I'm

1:01

good at doing. If he were enough about me,

1:03

let's check into a dime Nz who is trying

1:05

to drag up a friendly conversation with. We are

1:08

at Georgia Tech and there's a young man sitting

1:10

up. These are big steps sitting up here eating

1:12

a you brought your own lunch. You must be

1:14

Italian. No not Russian. now German. The Russian was

1:17

pretty close but of the Eastern Bloc. Countries

1:19

Scandinavia now. Yeah, because the nose

1:21

and I can point that out

1:23

because I got the sale and

1:25

is that a polish? Yeah that

1:27

the pressure. It's also really fun

1:29

thought. I'm

1:32

sorry for staring at it that well. let's

1:34

shockingly similar to my nose. and there's actually

1:36

a set of values are induced that you're

1:39

sick. You brought your on lunch. Everybody else

1:41

buys food around here. Yeah, I've noticed that.

1:43

but you don't because you're a budget conscious

1:46

guy. And you know why? Because you're married

1:48

and you've got responsibilities. Exactly. I'm

1:50

Obama. I'm a grad student is so I'm

1:52

on a completely different financial you get a

1:54

better job of. Yeah, I'm going to get

1:56

back and that gets around here with their

1:58

government. Let your guard. Exactly. And how long

2:01

have you been married? Money, move or year?

2:03

Really? Congratulations cause the gone at last year's

2:05

a toughie you know. hit it is something

2:07

I'm not gonna lie about that we spend

2:09

a little the time away as I was

2:11

finishing up another degree before I came here

2:13

so fighting over all things are don't. Go

2:16

lower to embarrass me as Douglas Sirk.

2:19

Why did you get married? Don't just into because you

2:21

loved her. I'm sure you do. For.

2:23

What's the point? Why mirrors?

2:25

What Is mirrors? Have

2:28

you ever thought of other a kind of

2:30

put me on the spot here for our

2:32

one same question because I mean we most

2:34

of it's do with how to get married

2:37

and we never really stop and go my

2:39

do it We see everybody else doing it,

2:41

we like a girl we want to be

2:43

with their for forever and so we get

2:45

married to that kind of what you do

2:47

or what is where did this whole concept

2:49

of marriage come from? Where did originate in

2:51

what's the point of view of or pondered.

2:53

I've asked myself that question why

2:55

we go through the the whole

2:58

institution of marriage before shirts them

3:00

from some ancient custom that else

3:02

on self worth. Where'd

3:05

you get married? We got. Married had

3:07

the holes in Massachusetts. Or

3:10

them else in what sort

3:12

of the filled with a

3:14

shovel knight you know it's

3:17

over with really stress sample

3:19

on a hill with would

3:21

urge. You know

3:23

it's they don't serve to a particular

3:25

religion which we tried to originally get

3:28

married and my and my wife's search.

3:32

They were undergoing renovations so we have to

3:34

find a place of Yoshio says I would

3:36

serve a purpose I'd normally the sun. You

3:38

see what you think of this and rounders

3:41

what I think that ancient tradition as a

3:43

half I think ready for this Have agreed

3:45

a marriage of as I'm in the Book

3:47

of Genesis, Adam and Eve. You know that

3:50

snoring he describes a man or woman coming

3:52

together cleaving to one another than what we

3:54

find out in the New Testament on off

3:56

your Bible. Of your

3:59

group. I read about it

4:01

on seven a New Testament it actually

4:03

says in a season. Of

4:05

marriage. God

4:09

has you playing the role

4:11

of Jesus as. And

4:14

your wife supposed to be playing the role

4:16

of. The

4:18

Bride of Jesus is that. Jesus

4:21

loves the church and the Church. Don't love Jesus.

4:24

It's kind of a great big way that God

4:26

created and you're playing the role of Jesus and

4:28

your wife is playing the role of the church

4:30

so that other people can understand Jesus love for

4:32

the church and vice versa. Who

4:35

is? So there's a lot of symbolism that

4:38

is involved in the Covenant of marriage. There's

4:40

even more than that a meal that you

4:42

had afterwards. The perception after the covenant was

4:44

cut they would have a covenant meal. you

4:46

know you're fat each of the cave and

4:48

it was all romantic and hope lead in

4:51

Smash it. Into her face Now she

4:53

would go may have when I wouldn't

4:55

attack he wouldn't have assets covenant like.

4:58

For instance, they would even exchange their

5:00

outerwear. Third, their guard they would hope

5:02

that they would wear. Their role was

5:05

important because I use it as a

5:07

pillow. they would use it as that

5:09

is a blanket of are they would.

5:11

He would actually swap basically by saying

5:13

everything I have is now yours and

5:15

everything you have is mine and that's

5:17

probably part of the how the humane

5:19

and in the old days before. People

5:22

you for your prenuptial agreements. That's the way

5:24

a was. You came together and they share

5:26

and everything because it's biblical covered concept. So

5:28

most of the stuff you did in your

5:30

wedding. Was actually

5:32

from biblical. You

5:35

didn't expect that today with your sandwich.

5:37

did you know I did not know

5:39

as soon as he went to Noom.

5:41

and what are you studying here in

5:43

Georgia? Mechanical Engineering? Because women guess you

5:45

want to be a mechanical engineer of

5:47

a man. I mean I mean I

5:49

really. I mean I guess I know

5:51

what I thought I would be all

5:53

smart or know. I mean I feel

5:55

like the problems. that

5:58

that i want to be a mechanical

6:00

engineer but I think mechanical engineering most,

6:03

uh, was the best suit

6:05

for my, my talents and interests.

6:08

So it's not that I want to be a

6:10

mechanical engineer, it's that mechanical engineering matches me. So

6:13

ultimately, if you live your

6:15

life, and you die,

6:18

and the books are closed, the tombstone

6:20

reads what? Mm-hmm. He

6:22

was a, he used his gifts

6:24

as a mechanical engineer making something, or he

6:26

was a great husband, or he was a

6:28

great religious guy, or he was a what? Well,

6:32

I mean, I'd say I'd want, you

6:34

know, something like that to reflect, you know, being a

6:36

good husband and a good father. I

6:38

want to teach, so I want to,

6:40

I want to teach on the university level,

6:43

so I'm doing my PhD right now. So

6:46

what does it say? It's got one line here, tombstone, you've

6:48

got, because you know you only get so many letters, unless

6:51

you get one of those really big tombstones. Well, maybe

6:53

I could spring for the extra lines, but maybe. All

6:55

right, I'll give you two lines, because you will have

6:57

died as a PhD. So what does the tombstone say?

7:00

You know, I can't pick that right now. I mean, I guess

7:05

I'd wanted to reflect on four things,

7:08

being a husband, a father, a teacher, and

7:10

a philanthropist. I want to, after I'm done

7:12

with school, even while I'm during school, I

7:15

want to try to get away to use

7:17

the knowledge and the gifts that I've

7:20

acquired elsewhere. Okay, why? Well,

7:22

I mean, I guess it really just comes

7:24

down to the desire to have a

7:27

positive impact on other people. I mean, I

7:29

guess that'd be the, you

7:31

know, and I guess it just kind of

7:33

comes from a belief of mine that, you know, we're

7:35

here to try to serve some good in the world.

7:37

So if I can go through my life. You're here

7:39

to be good. Why? Is

7:41

there a reward someday for that? You know,

7:43

I know this might go against your radio

7:45

show, but I don't see that there's a

7:48

particular reward for my

7:51

health of deeds here. So why are

7:53

you doing that? Well,

7:55

what's the alternative? You could live

7:58

like a man, man. He

8:00

drank and be married. Which would make

8:02

the only gratitude, well, would be for

8:04

myself. And no one else would gain

8:06

anything from that. Why not though? It

8:09

is an obvious... It just seems like a waste

8:12

when you can have a positive impact doing something

8:14

for somebody else. I'm

8:16

assuming that you're probably an agnostic, maybe an

8:18

atheist. Is that a fair conclusion based on

8:20

what you just said? No, no. It's

8:23

kind of weird when people ask me this question.

8:25

I have kind of developed my own set of

8:27

beliefs that I don't identify

8:29

myself with any particular religion. It's

8:32

more common these days. But I see there are

8:34

a lot of religions where there's a lot of

8:36

similarities. From Christianity to Buddhism

8:38

to Zenism, all these different things

8:40

really combined into something that I

8:43

feel like that

8:45

I truly believe. So it's

8:47

kind of like it's not picking and choosing. It's based

8:49

on my own internal... But you don't? Without

8:51

any outside influence, really. When you die. Do

8:54

you think there's an afterlife? I don't

8:56

know that yet. I haven't been able to... You

9:00

want to be a teacher. Yes. That

9:02

means you like truth, don't you? I do. I

9:05

do. So I'm going to lay something down and you tell me if you

9:07

agree with this as truth or not. Okay.

9:10

I'll do it up front. All

9:12

right? Okay. I don't think that

9:14

all religions are basically the same. I

9:18

agree with that. There's some big

9:20

differences. Which means that

9:23

either they are all wrong

9:26

or one of them is right, but they can't all be

9:28

kind of good and you can kind of pick and choose.

9:31

Because they teach such disparate things.

9:34

They are so completely different. Buddhism,

9:37

which teaches lose your desires, which

9:39

is always ironic to me that you should desire to lose

9:41

your desires. But even so, lose your desires. That

9:44

gets rid of suffering. And then

9:46

ultimately you will reincarnate into nothing.

9:50

God says you can try all you

9:53

want, but you're not guaranteed a paradise

9:55

unless you die in A

9:57

Jahan and then you will be rewarded if you...

10:00

The five dollars and died in

10:02

a jihad in paradise with seventy

10:04

two virgins. I didn't him close

10:06

to buddhism. Christianity is like way

10:08

radical from all of them. He

10:10

goes back to that whole Jesus

10:12

in the Church business. If

10:15

I could hear, let's do this. We

10:17

gotta get a were. Here's a big

10:19

square in front of right here as

10:21

it is where it your. I'm going

10:24

to put Islam and Buddhism and Hinduism

10:26

and Mormonism and Roman Catholicism into this

10:28

big box right here. The reason I'm

10:30

gonna do then is because those are

10:32

those religions. I'll teach one. Consistency. Do

10:36

good. And when you

10:38

die, there will be a reward. Do

10:41

bad and there will be some sort

10:43

of punishment or regress. That's

10:46

the big see It could be

10:48

put underneath work righteous. You

10:51

earn righteousness are your works or

10:53

I'm in that little box right

10:56

there. I'm gonna put biblical Christian.

10:58

This fox says something completely different.

11:00

This fox says you cannot do

11:03

good all you have merited for

11:05

yourself his punishment. And

11:08

you aren't entirely hope this. Sets.

11:11

Christianity as everything else. Car go

11:13

any further with a little cause.

11:16

I want to see if we can find

11:18

agreement with that. To

11:20

are very fast car. I will hold on just

11:22

a second season or up another hidden. It's a

11:24

pretty heavy stuff right now. Think that will be

11:26

back in two minutes. This is with his would

11:28

be on the didn't media. as

11:33

you know we the series use the

11:35

big changes that are coming very soon

11:37

here to gainesville partners median see new

11:39

powerful voices will soon be joining the

11:42

phone it's a big his movies movies

11:44

yes imagine a christian version of the

11:46

daily lives of that is what's on

11:48

it's way these men that are joining

11:51

our ministry will be creating compelling time

11:53

to it's it will speak truth into

11:55

our darkening cancer i'm talking about me

11:58

and my pastor bread big me Tim

12:00

Chalies, Dr. Adam Tyson, Dr. Andrew Walker, Dr.

12:51

treats. It has been an outstanding ministry

12:53

for over 20 years

12:55

and it's growing like a nobody's business

12:58

and it is a testimony to their

13:00

faithfulness that over 50% of

13:02

the Tomorrow Club volunteer leaders were

13:05

Tomorrow Club kid attendees. Now

13:07

14:48

is a conscious self aware, been

14:50

14:52

he has made himself known some

14:54

scripture and most of all he

14:56

wants you to know in some.

14:59

Senses Wretched Radio talk freely and we

15:02

are bag Either way of when they

15:04

hear on a rented radio is now

15:06

tuning into joining as.is been having pretty

15:08

interesting conversation with the Mr. yeah we

15:10

didn't catch his name but we do

15:12

not uninterrupted as much Anyway, we didn't

15:14

get his name and aboard a break

15:16

they were kind. Of waiting out into

15:18

the deep end of the theological pool. Target

15:21

a little bit about the purpose of marriage,

15:23

the meaning of life band. Todd was really

15:25

getting into the. Good. Person task. That's

15:27

exactly where we left off and you know

15:29

exactly where this is likely about. The lead

15:31

Todd is setting the stage right now. I'm

15:33

a you're on the Edu sieges like I

15:35

am that get back out of the campus

15:37

now see how this example would you consider

15:40

yourself to be a very bad person. i

15:48

know i don't consider myself a very bad parts

15:50

out on the try to persuade i'm not perfect

15:52

i know i have my flaws i make my

15:55

the state budget and you're the guy i think

15:57

i'm a relatively with

16:00

the Bible says that every man will

16:02

profess his own goodness with his mouth but

16:04

the Bible says the heart is deceitful and

16:06

wicked who can know it because

16:09

the Bible says that we are all bad and

16:11

I'm gonna try to reason with your conscience and

16:13

see if we can find agreement ready how many

16:15

lies have you told in your life you

16:20

know I don't think I'd be able to put a

16:22

number on it I try not to lie all that

16:25

often but you know there are certainly you gotta

16:29

make any way through modern life without telling

16:31

a half truth that are not something that's

16:33

not full truth but just a lie is

16:35

extremely difficult if not impossible no argument but

16:38

that doesn't change the fact that you've done

16:40

it I've lied and if

16:42

you've lied until lots of lies that

16:45

makes you a well that would

16:47

make me a liar fair enough I

16:49

don't think I'm a liar but you've

16:51

just confessed to me that you've lied I

16:53

have lied right you can

16:55

do lie you can do something once and I could

16:57

water ski once in my life but I'm not gonna

16:59

say I'm a water skier well probably

17:02

under the definition of like a professional

17:04

full-time water skier but if

17:06

somebody has murdered one person wouldn't

17:08

you call them a murderer hmm

17:12

now we're kind of bringing in the severity

17:15

of the action or the event that happens

17:17

fair enough but hold that thought for a

17:19

minute that's a very good observation but hold

17:21

that thought have you ever stolen anything no

17:24

ever no download music money

17:27

from your parents pockets stole it from your brother's

17:29

sister well you know I mean downloading I

17:31

mean I guess I've downloaded music that's

17:34

a good point it doesn't matter what

17:36

it is it doesn't mean robbing a

17:38

bank so I I didn't

17:40

buy the right to

17:42

own that music so I guess yeah

17:44

so I yeah I want

17:47

to ask you to answer this because you're a

17:49

married man okay but the Bible says that

17:52

you don't need to have sex outside

17:54

of marriage Bible

17:56

says you just need to look at a woman in the lost and

17:59

it's It's like committing adultery in your

18:01

heart because God doesn't just look at what

18:03

we do externally, even what

18:05

we think in our hearts. So

18:08

if you have ever, before getting

18:10

married, while you're married, have ever

18:12

looked at another woman and lusted,

18:14

you've committed adultery in your heart.

18:20

Oh, geez, you got me there too. Of course. All

18:22

right. If you've ever taken God's name in

18:24

vain, have you done that? Use God's name

18:27

in a loose, kind of casual way? You

18:30

know, I know I have something I like to do, but

18:34

I know that I have maybe once or

18:36

twice out of anger. But yeah. And

18:38

God says, I will not hold him blameless who takes my

18:40

name in vain. Because the Bible

18:42

says that unlike in today's society where people get

18:44

away with murder, nobody's going to get away with

18:46

murder. It is appointed unto

18:49

man once to die and then judgment.

18:51

You'll die and you will

18:53

stand before God alone. The

18:55

just judge of all the world, the creator

18:57

of the universe who has kept track of

18:59

every deed you've done in darkness, every thought

19:01

you've ever had, and every good thing that

19:03

you've failed to do, he

19:05

will have it recorded and the books will be open

19:07

on your life. Now here's the

19:10

question. Not do you see

19:12

yourself as a good person, but

19:14

does God see you as a

19:16

good person? What will he conclude

19:18

if you've lied and lusted and

19:21

stolen and blasphemed his name? Well,

19:23

the God from the biblical

19:26

Christianity that you described in that square

19:28

right there in front of us would

19:30

consider me a wicked person. You're

19:32

right. Yeah. No, you're right.

19:34

From every definition that you've given. Now, do you remember when

19:36

you said it depends on the severity of the crime? I

19:40

did. The reality is it doesn't just

19:43

depend on the severity of the crime because there

19:45

are different crimes that are more severe. You're correct.

19:48

Because you know, you can murder somebody, but the

19:50

Bible says you can commit murder in your heart

19:52

by just being angry with somebody. And there's a

19:54

difference between just thinking a nasty thought and actually

19:56

murdering somebody. But they're both wrong.

19:59

But they're different. and severity, but here's another part of

20:01

the equation that you should understand. It's

20:04

not just the crime that

20:06

I've committed. It's the one against

20:08

whom I've committed the crime that

20:10

can increase my punishment. If

20:13

I tell a lie to my child, absolutely nothing

20:15

happens to me. If I tell a lie to

20:17

my wife, I sleep on the couch. If I tell

20:19

a lie to my boss, I get fired. If

20:21

I tell a lie to the government, I get

20:23

put in jail. I've committed the same

20:25

crime received a greater punishment because

20:28

of the one against whom I've committed the crime. Our

20:31

lies, our little white lies that we think are

20:33

no big deal, are

20:35

horrible because of the one against whom we've committed

20:37

them, the God of the universe. So

20:41

the fine becomes increased because

20:43

of the character of the one against whom we've

20:45

committed our crime. Now,

20:49

you're a guilty guy, just like the rest of us would

20:51

be. God should punish

20:53

you because he sees you as bad. You'd be

20:56

like a criminal saying, but I'm good, but I'm

20:58

good. And the judge goes, but I've got all

21:00

the evidence and you're self-deluded. Look

21:02

at the evidence, man, and

21:04

agree with the judge. You're not a good man. You're

21:06

just like the rest of us. You're a bad man.

21:09

And that's what Christianity teaches right there.

21:12

And God gave you a conscience to

21:14

know that. Now, that's

21:16

the difference between these two right here. These say, be

21:18

good. They'll get moved

21:20

ahead. This one says you're bad. You're getting moved

21:22

down to hell. But

21:25

if that's the end of the story, we

21:28

are in such desperate trouble because

21:30

all of us sin in Paul Short of God's

21:33

standard. Everybody does. I do. Dude, you're 27. You

21:35

think you've sinned? Are you

21:37

kidding me? You should see my book. It's

21:39

packed. We would all be

21:42

destined to help, but there's more to the

21:44

story. Do you remember why you got married?

21:46

The Jesus and the church business? To allow

21:50

everyone to see the

21:53

relationship between Jesus and the church every time they look

21:55

at me and my wife. Bingo. Because

21:58

Jesus wants the church. The

22:00

church is filled with people who have repented

22:02

and trusted Him because they believe

22:04

that He died on a cross 2,000 years

22:07

ago to take the punishment that they

22:09

deserve for sinning against the high

22:11

and holy God. That Jesus

22:13

Christ, the God-Man, came as your representative to

22:16

take the wrath of God on your behalf.

22:18

The good man died for the bad man.

22:21

Your bad sins got put on the good man

22:23

so that if you will

22:25

repent and trust Jesus, God

22:27

will make you a member of His church and

22:30

then the world will see how good God

22:32

is because He's forgiven a sinner

22:34

like you. The

22:36

church is filled up with people who have

22:38

realized, I'm a part of the wretched club.

22:40

I'm a bad man. I'm a bad woman.

22:42

I'm not good at all. I've done dirty,

22:44

terrible things and I need to

22:47

be forgiven by God and my conscience tells me so

22:49

and God has provided a way for you to be

22:51

forgiven because if He just turned a blind out of

22:54

justice, He would be unjust and the

22:56

foundation of His throne is righteousness and judgment

22:58

and justice and He's not going to let

23:00

bad guys get away with anything. That's

23:03

why He says all liars will have their part in the

23:05

lake of liars. He's rich in mercy

23:07

and He's good and He wants to save a

23:09

bad guy like you so

23:11

that the world can look at you and know how

23:14

good God is. He wants to

23:16

make you a member of His church because Jesus shed

23:18

His blood to purchase you for His own so

23:21

that someday when you die, the Bible

23:23

says Jesus and the church will be

23:25

united together, if you will, in a

23:27

great big heavenly marriage. The

23:29

wonderful intimacy that you share with your wife,

23:32

that's what Jesus wants with you and

23:35

He purchased you. He died and shed His

23:38

blood for you. You must

23:40

agree with the story. You

23:43

must agree that it's true. You must agree

23:46

that you're a bad guy, that Jesus died

23:48

on a cross, that He's the only true

23:51

religion and all these other religions in the box

23:53

are false and you must repent which

23:55

means to turn from your sins. want

24:00

to do them anymore. And you

24:02

put your trust in Jesus. The Bible

24:04

says all of His goodness gets credited to your account

24:06

and all of your badness gets credited to His account.

24:10

And you should respond to this message because that's

24:12

the most amazing offer that you've ever had in

24:14

your 27 years. And

24:17

that's the purpose of life. Please,

24:19

I earnestly plead with you as I leave

24:21

you. Think about this. Look

24:24

at the creation and realize there's a

24:26

prayer. Listen to your conscience and know that you've

24:28

sinned against Him. Agree with

24:31

God and then look at Jesus

24:33

Christ hanging on a cross tonight for you with

24:35

sin. And you should break your heart and you

24:37

should repent and trust Him not because you're

24:39

afraid of hell but because He has been so kind

24:41

to save you from Him. This is a

24:43

message of kindness. And I'm pleading

24:46

with you to simply consider

24:48

my words and not let your

24:50

eyes close tonight without making

24:52

a decision about what is true.

24:54

Fair enough? I can do that for you. Pray for

24:56

that young man. Again, I know we didn't get his

24:59

name, but Todd managed to cover

25:01

the entire scope of human history in just a

25:03

few short minutes. I mean, he went from creation

25:06

to the cross to eternity and even talked a

25:08

little bit about marriage for good measure. So it's

25:10

moments like these that remind me of why

25:12

we do exactly what we do. Look,

25:15

we're not just here to make snarky

25:17

comments or crack jokes. Although if I'm

25:19

being honest, I probably tell the best

25:21

dad jokes in the world. But anyway,

25:23

that's not why we're here. We are

25:25

here to proclaim the greatest news the

25:27

world has ever heard. And that's through

25:29

Jesus Christ. Even the worst sinners can

25:31

be forgiven and transformed. And

25:34

go back and listen to that conversation again

25:36

if you didn't catch the last part because

25:38

Todd didn't just leave this young man with

25:40

fire and brimstone, but he pleaded with him

25:42

to respond to the kindness of

25:45

God. That's the heart

25:47

of the gospel right there, folks. All right.

25:49

Well, Hank, we're not finished yet. We're just

25:51

getting started here on Witness Wednesday. Much more

25:53

still to come. Hang tight. It's

25:56

Witness Wednesday on Rechit Radio. And

26:03

it's now time for a wretched news

26:05

break here on Wretched Radio, I'm Jimmy

26:07

Hicks. Well we start with a stunning

26:09

display, I don't know if I'm even

26:11

going to call this stunning, a much

26:13

expected display of biblical illiteracy and blatant

26:15

disregard for God's Word. The United Methodist

26:18

Church has decided to lift its ban

26:20

on LGBT clergy at their recent General

26:22

Conference and it all comes into full

26:24

view exactly what has been going on

26:26

the last couple of years because we've

26:28

told you about the many thousands of

26:31

Methodist congregations that have left the

26:33

UNC. Well this is why the

26:35

UNC didn't fight too much against

26:37

it. Delegates voted overwhelmingly 692-51 to

26:40

remove the rule forbidding quote

26:43

self-evowed practicing homosexuals from being

26:45

ordained or appointed as ministers.

26:48

So the Bible calls the practice

26:51

of homosexuality sinful and the continual

26:53

practice of homosexuality with the ongoing

26:55

unrepentant sin which would make someone

26:58

according to 1 John not even

27:00

saved yet they can be ordained

27:02

and appointed as ministers in the United

27:05

Methodist Church now. A

27:07

sad day when a denomination that claims

27:09

to follow Christ chooses to ignore his

27:11

clear teaching on sexual morality. But hey

27:13

wait there's more. The pro-LGBTQ cohort at

27:16

the convention also celebrated the passage of

27:18

a petition that would remove any and

27:20

all quote anti-LGBT petitions from the floor.

27:22

So apparently they're not content with just

27:25

promoting homosexuality. No no no no no

27:27

they want to make God himself trans

27:29

and gay. It would be laughable if

27:31

it weren't so tragic. The UNC

27:34

now has clearly gone the

27:36

way of the Episcopalian. It's

27:39

really heartbreaking to see an entire

27:41

denomination deceived by Satan. Now Moving

27:43

on to our next story, which

27:45

is just as bad, if not

27:47

even worse. A PhD Student, no,

27:49

it's not worse. But anyway, a

27:51

PhD student studying poetry through a

27:53

Marxist lens recently demanded quote humanitarian

27:55

aid so her comrades wouldn't die

27:57

of dehydration and starvation during campus

27:59

protests. Colonel around the commies

28:01

run out of food immediately

28:03

following the revolution. an outlet

28:05

so ironic isn't it a

28:07

gets better? This students dissertation

28:09

is on fantasies of limitless

28:11

energy in the Transatlantic romantic

28:13

imagination. From seventeen sixteen to

28:15

eighteen sixteen she wants to

28:17

write a pre history of

28:19

metabolic rear which was marked

28:21

term for the disruption of

28:23

energy circuits caused by industrialization

28:25

under capitalism. I academically step

28:27

up even if I tried

28:29

both. Even the Babylon Be would struggle

28:32

to come up with something this completely absurd

28:34

but it more encouraging news get around is

28:36

and isn't a state of Florida are suing

28:38

28:41

28:43

28:45

28:47

28:50

28:52

28:54

women, not men dressed up as women that's

28:56

29:05

Know your response. Was

29:23

the gospel and sing the songs.

29:27

This. We

29:30

29:32

on rescued her yeon course I still am of

29:35

campus Georgia Tech converted back out there now and

29:37

see if he found someone else to talk with.

29:39

Hopefully he's deceased person's miss a young man. Forty

29:42

two and scenario waiting for somebody. Don't

29:44

I can? I kill time with the for

29:46

moments and ask some questions on the radio

29:48

waves and are still in. Its managed to.

29:52

Pick up my glasses of my hand. Thanks

29:55

for that. It's ok here's I'll get up

29:57

if you will. A philosophical maybe a religious

29:59

west. for you. Would you consider yourself to

30:01

be a good person? Sure. I'm

30:04

going to probe into that, okay? I'm going to get into your

30:06

consciousness. Yes or no answer? Sure.

30:09

Because I mean, everyone makes mistakes. I

30:11

agree with you. Have you ever told lies

30:14

in your life? Mm-hmm. Okay. Of

30:17

course. Yeah. I think everybody else, I agree. Okay. So

30:19

if you tell lies, or if I told lies, what

30:21

would you call me? What type of a person would I be?

30:24

If you were a continual

30:26

person who lies, I would call you a liar.

30:28

Okay. But at the same

30:30

time, you have to

30:33

say something to me that wasn't completely true,

30:35

and I know you're a nice

30:37

guy or whatever, and I wouldn't call you a

30:39

liar. The chances are pretty good. You like the

30:41

rest of us. Have done something

30:43

to protect yourself, or to get out of trouble. That'd be fine.

30:46

Mm-hmm. We'd be liars. For

30:48

lying. Okay. Have

30:50

you ever stolen anything in your life? It

30:52

doesn't mean robbing a bank. Yeah. For

30:55

sure. I've taken some things. Stolen? Yeah.

30:57

Okay. A little stuff. All right.

31:00

Yeah. I'm going to dig in a little

31:02

deeper. Okay. All right. On the campus, looking around, if

31:04

you've ever seen a woman and you've

31:06

had x-rated thoughts about her or

31:08

thoughts that, yikes, if mom and

31:10

dad knew about these, it would be kind of

31:12

embarrassing. Has that ever happened to you? I

31:15

wouldn't say exactly the way you described

31:17

it, but I mean, I do see

31:20

cute girls, but I don't know.

31:22

But honestly, I really don't. I

31:25

don't really get those kinds of thoughts too often. Never

31:28

lust? Not in

31:30

the way, not like x-rated lust, but more

31:32

so rather just kind of trying to figure

31:34

out who that person would be. Mm-hmm.

31:38

Because it would take, I would have to see that person

31:40

and know them a lot longer before those

31:42

thoughts would usually get to me. Well, I want

31:44

to ask you to answer this, because this is

31:46

private, but if you've ever looked

31:50

at pornographic images or

31:52

pornography or viewed

31:54

things that you shouldn't and dwelt on

31:56

them, that would be crossing that line

31:58

into a... And

32:01

if you're like, well, pretty much every other guy

32:04

who's on the planet, you've done that along your

32:06

life sometimes. Last

32:08

question. This is a good person test to see if you're a

32:10

good person. Have you ever taken Doc's name in

32:12

vain, used it in a bad way, and tossed

32:15

it out there? The most

32:17

typical way is you always hear people

32:19

say, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Absolutely.

32:22

Okay, so there's four questions to see if you're a good person. And

32:25

you admitted you're a liar, you've

32:28

stolen things. You've committed adultery in

32:30

your heart because you don't need to commit the act in the eyes of God.

32:33

You just need to think about it because he knows what's going

32:35

on inside of your brain. It's as if I could put a

32:37

computer chip behind your ear and record every thought that went through

32:39

your brain. He's

32:41

got the same type of recording device. No,

32:44

it's everything. When you were a

32:46

child, if you're ever naughty or lippy or sassy

32:48

with your mom and dad, you're breaking another commandment.

32:50

Okay. You're a young man, but if

32:53

you die right now, that

32:55

just stops your heart from beating right now. And

32:57

he opened up the books on your life. He took that

32:59

computer chip and took a look at it. Would

33:02

he find you innocent or guilty? So

33:05

are you saying that any bad thing I've

33:07

done is, as soon

33:09

as you've done something bad, it's bad. It

33:12

doesn't matter how bad it was. There's no sort

33:14

of relative. Well there can be relatives.

33:16

When you're the first one to ask me if I was a good

33:19

person, I would say yes, even though I

33:22

have all these relatives, these tiny bad things coming

33:24

on in my life. Okay, you're

33:26

a smart guy. So I'm going to give you a

33:29

scenario. You've got to think this one through, okay? Let's

33:31

say I can't see one right now, but let's

33:33

see what crawled across here. And I stomped on

33:35

it and just killed it. What's

33:38

going to happen to me? Do you think the police are going

33:40

to come arrest me and throw me down? Nothing would happen other

33:42

than the end of the book. Okay.

33:45

So now let's say that I go

33:47

into downtown Atlanta and I find a

33:50

homeless person, somebody that society esteem's low

33:52

value, and I killed that person.

33:54

Do you think the police are going to arrest me?

33:57

Still probably not, and still the only thing

33:59

you've probably... done is taking the life

34:01

of someone but chances are

34:03

if the justice system is decent probably

34:05

go spend some time yeah yeah not

34:08

for a ton of time but probably

34:10

for some hmm now let's say I

34:12

flew to Washington and assassinated a high-level

34:14

official or the president of the United

34:16

States it's pretty certain I'm

34:18

going to jail probably for the rest of my

34:21

days here's what we got murder

34:23

of a bug murder of

34:25

murder of a president same

34:28

crime different punishment what

34:31

changed in the scenario to make my punishment

34:33

worse the

34:35

perceived importance that other people put

34:37

on it oh exactly now imagine

34:40

this let's say God is

34:42

the king of the universe and he made everything

34:44

and he holds it all together by the power

34:46

of his word he holds you together all of

34:48

life functions because of him he's

34:51

the one who orchestrates governments and nations

34:53

everything so when you break

34:55

a law you might perceive it as

34:57

being very small but because it's committed

35:00

against the king of the universe

35:02

it's huge because he's infinitely

35:04

high and holy so you might

35:06

think that lying it's kind of not a big deal

35:08

or lusting in the heart it doesn't hurt I never

35:10

thought it wasn't a big deal but imagine how big

35:12

it is to God all

35:14

right so he judges knows that you've

35:16

broken those laws he's perfectly

35:19

holy and righteous those are huge

35:21

offenses I mean for instance are

35:23

you sure well because of this

35:25

character in nature and here's what the Bible

35:27

says the Bible says in the commandment

35:30

and not take his name in vain because I

35:32

will not hold him blameless it takes his name

35:34

in vain and my boss says

35:37

all liars will have their part in a

35:39

lake of fear again not a big deal

35:41

to us the boys will be

35:43

boys we look at us and it

35:45

doesn't see it that way he's a strict

35:47

judge and he's a holy judge so

35:50

if God is that nature and character

35:52

what should he do with you should he take you

35:55

to heaven or should he send you to hell

35:58

I guess he would Then we the hell

36:00

is that A is? Are you getting with that kind

36:02

of now trying to reason with you? I'm I'm trying

36:05

to actually get injured. You're smart guy, but I'm trying

36:07

to get your conscience. This

36:09

is kind of the missing information for

36:11

me. I was kinda like the idea

36:13

believing in god because kind of funny

36:15

when I was going on at place

36:17

and wrong motives I didn't get the

36:19

whole. Or it

36:21

was when I understood that turn. Perfect

36:23

right? Holy And Just. And I've been

36:26

living like a real. Bad

36:28

guy like a rich man. and then

36:31

when I realized something else does. It

36:34

even though that I've done all these things

36:36

that are wrong and sensitive and to not

36:38

never thanked him for the food that I

36:40

was eating, of the air that I was

36:42

breathing and more than half when I remember

36:44

that Jesus Christ his son died to forgive

36:47

me and I'd been living like a rebel

36:49

on the whole thing Canada really clear to

36:51

me. And I stopped terrible

36:53

because I was afraid of hell, that

36:55

because we had been say they've been

36:58

purchased and bought My God who died

37:00

to save me from how he was

37:02

his goodness that I suddenly realized wow

37:04

I've been live really bad man. Met

37:08

one hundred maybe steer you towards a

37:10

little that realizing that you been up

37:13

and man or there's a good god

37:15

who died to sleep You choose not

37:17

to punish harbor that he's gonna do

37:19

it and would love.on it and whenever

37:22

it's you criminal get off on. Let

37:26

anybody goes and a punish all orbit. Rich

37:29

in Merced safes demonstrates kind Suisse

37:32

and Tucson. or even born of

37:34

a virgin to live under the

37:37

law to keep. all the laws

37:39

are you an eyebrow live perfectly to

37:41

be punished and beaten and hung on

37:43

across on on the house contrast ct

37:46

out on him to our sakes so

37:48

that a great exchange could have you

37:50

could be forgiven his righteousness credited to

37:52

your account your band is put on

37:55

him so that you could be seen

37:57

and be made That's

38:00

the good news of the gospel and my girl.

38:03

And God then commands us to repent, to

38:06

say, I'm sorry, I have been living all

38:08

for myself all wrong. It turned

38:11

from your sins, said that you suddenly become

38:13

perfect, but you have a new attitude about

38:15

Him and you put your trust in Jesus.

38:17

I'm going to have died to save you.

38:19

And He promises if you'll do that, I

38:22

will make you alive in me. I will adopt you

38:24

as my child and I will forgive all of your

38:26

sins and grant you everlasting life because of what Jesus

38:28

said. That's the

38:31

good news of the gospel. So

38:33

earlier, a friend of mine said, well, I'm

38:35

not sure what to call it. And

38:37

my little friend said that God is the only true

38:39

and living to it. And you've got to court date with

38:41

Him. And if you're not in Him, you're

38:45

His enemy. And it's going to pour out His

38:47

wrath on you. But this day He offers you

38:49

mercy. So you need to figure out if

38:51

what I'm saying is true or not. Because

38:53

if it's true, right now you're in hot

38:55

water. But mercy is

38:57

available if you'll repent and trust Him. So

39:00

you need to figure out if what I'm saying is true. That's

39:04

what I'd like to challenge you with today. And

39:06

that's another chat in the books on

39:08

a witness Wednesday. Wow. Be

39:11

praying for Mike. Honestly, be

39:13

praying for that young man. I'm not

39:15

really sure how he responded to all of it.

39:17

I really don't. I mean, he seemed to be

39:19

tracking with Todd intellectually, but that doesn't necessarily mean

39:21

his heart was in the right place where his

39:23

heart was ready to embrace the truth that he

39:25

was hearing. Most of you know it's one thing

39:27

to acknowledge guilt, but it's quite another thing to

39:29

throw yourself on the mercy of Christ. So let's

39:31

be praying for that young man. Ask God to

39:34

continue pursuing Him. Ask God to continue to open

39:36

His eyes to the reality of His sin and

39:38

the beauty of His Son. And

39:40

remember to do that for yourself as well. Let's not

39:42

forget to thank God for His grace

39:44

in our own lives. And let's

39:46

continue remembering that we ourselves were

39:49

once in Mike's shoes, dead in

39:51

our trespasses and sins. Through His

39:53

grace, we've been made alive together

39:56

with Christ. Today

40:00

is coming up in three minutes.

40:02

It's a Witness Wednesday on Retro

40:04

Radio. Oh,

40:10

I'm so excited about this. That's

40:12

right. I'm actually giddy about Bibles.

40:14

We are going to be doing

40:16

another campaign with our good friends

40:18

at the Masters Academy International. We're

40:20

gonna be sending MacArthur Study Bibles

40:23

to places that for various reasons,

40:25

our brothers and sisters don't have

40:27

study Bibles. And we did a

40:29

campaign to the Philippines. 10,000

40:32

Bibles were sent to our brothers and sisters

40:34

in the Philippines. I think we're either

40:36

gonna do another 10 or 15,000 to

40:40

countries whose names we better

40:42

not speak. So be

40:44

on the lookout for it. And if you'd like

40:46

to start even supporting that now. Oh, oh, oh,

40:48

that would rock. You can

40:50

learn more about the Amazing Masters

40:53

Academy International. Don't forget they've got

40:55

the mini seminaries around the globe

40:57

training indigenous pastors to rightly divide

40:59

the word of truth. Telling you,

41:02

first-class ministry with generational impact. You

41:04

can learn more at wretched.org/ Bible.

41:08

Thank you so much for listening to Retro Radio

41:10

today. And I have got some exciting news

41:12

to share with you. Gospel partner

41:14

media soon will look a bit

41:16

different. Imagine this, a Christian version

41:18

of the Daily Wire. Eight powerful

41:20

voices are joining our ministry and

41:22

they will be creating compelling content

41:24

that's gonna speak truth into this

41:26

darkened culture. I'm talking about certified

41:28

biblical counselors like Pastor Brad Bigney.

41:30

He'll be hosting a podcast on

41:32

marriage and family. But that's not

41:34

all. We also have incredible thinkers

41:36

like Pastor Tim Chally, Dr. Adam

41:38

Tyson, and you've already been listening

41:40

to Transform with Dr. Greg Gifford. This

41:42

is where you come in because we're right now currently

41:45

in the middle of a $250,000 match campaign, which

41:49

means every dollar you are able to

41:51

give will be double. But look, this

41:53

isn't just about money. It's about partnerships.

41:55

So join us in this new chapter.

41:57

Visit record.org/donate right now to get. all

42:00

of the details. That's wretched.org. Flash

42:02

donate. Wretched. Amazing grace.

42:05

Amazing. Who

42:11

will speak for those who are staggering

42:13

to the slaughter?

42:15

Seems like right now would be a

42:17

good time to encourage you to support

42:19

Freeborn Ministries. They're in it. It's

42:22

a little complex out there with the internet

42:24

ordering pills. They're in the

42:26

game. They're working hard to save babies

42:29

and save mommies and daddies with the

42:31

gospel. So if you are energized about

42:33

walls, that's something you can do.

42:36

You can support Freeborn. They provide

42:39

free ultrasounds despite the accusations

42:41

of all the whole wall clinics. They

42:44

are holistic. They do care about

42:46

the mommy too. And

42:49

they care for the family and they

42:51

provide training. And it is literally

42:53

a way that if you have the means

42:55

you can be saving a life. Amazing ministry.

42:59

freeborn.org/

43:02

wretched. freeborn.org/

43:07

wretched. The

43:16

book of Ecclesiastes is a philosophical

43:18

and poetic reflection on life. The

43:20

author teaches that no matter what

43:22

all men die and face God's

43:24

judgment. Life then is full of

43:27

vanity and despair. Anything that is

43:29

pursued for its own sake is

43:31

meaningless. But if we pursue God

43:33

above all else, we can enjoy

43:35

even mundane things as gifts from

43:37

God. This is Wretched Radio

43:40

with Todd Friel. We're back.

43:42

It's Wednesday here on Wretched Radio. We Thought

43:44

Todd was done harassing, I mean, sharing the

43:46

gospel with college students. We'll think again. He's

43:48

still out there on the prowl. So Let's

43:50

get back out to the campus and continue

43:52

listening. We're asking people about the holiday that's

43:54

coming up in just a couple of days.

43:56

Do You know what it is? Easter. What

43:58

is it? If. There was basically

44:01

you know the by for price. After.

44:03

Adding after he died when he came back

44:06

to life. I guess if we're eateries I

44:08

haven't been a source allows us not like

44:10

a while in a while. Guess if you

44:12

believe that story? Yeah, How

44:14

come. Basically. Goes know I

44:17

was raised up of you know that like

44:19

that but my my family's baptists so any

44:21

daylights horse related he knows com like that's

44:23

why i grew up on so if i

44:25

our the have a choice to believe it

44:27

kind of you to to me i do

44:30

whammy afghan for like this with like latest

44:32

of is it appears on more your family

44:34

the as you grow up you gonna choose

44:36

your life have enough have you chosen your

44:38

path right now I guess I'm still christian

44:40

way I don't believe with everyday now the

44:42

christians believe in the same time so it's

44:45

like. I guess I put myself in

44:47

increasing category where you know as do I do believe

44:49

it's like a higher power but I just don't believe

44:51

everything within as I in the bible. Why?

44:54

To some of his like unrealistic. Like.

44:57

What? Does.

45:00

I some this of the actually to do. Like

45:02

like for instance we've talked about in our

45:04

class like the Commandment. So when the Ten

45:06

Commandments is. You know basically

45:08

you know recently like steals and people and

45:10

like you think he'll be more sense of

45:12

my day in decide if you do things

45:14

like look down upon was like a certain

45:16

situations you my had to do death like

45:18

defend yourself or your family and my other

45:21

people do they all the time my wars

45:23

the fi that that and and like I

45:25

said before likes of in the bible this

45:27

like china doesn't really make sense bec afford

45:29

like not really bank that you know when

45:31

you mean I feel like there's a lot

45:33

of stories in the bible an arm those

45:35

stories are used to like you know t

45:37

to. right? From wrong and basically just to

45:39

give you a good price of what a

45:41

guava to live your life at that and

45:44

buy some people take it to in death

45:46

in the end up doing stuff that it

45:48

wasn't dinner with the noise if that makes

45:50

sense. Okay let me just try to respond

45:53

to your first issue which was the issued

45:55

the bible says he said murder but what

45:57

is? What about a soldier and we see

45:59

sword. In the Bible killing people. There's

46:02

a difference between the word murder and

46:04

killing. Murder is when I take your

46:06

life and it is not just you

46:08

come at me with a butcher knife

46:10

and I have to kill you to

46:12

defend myself. Skill self defense. It's not

46:14

murder or you be trying to murder

46:16

me and I'm just gonna kill you.

46:19

Would stop you from murdering me. The

46:21

I Got to be still can with

46:23

my Dad is that? That's true. But

46:25

there is a difference between an act

46:27

of guilt and an act of self

46:29

defense. In Iraq, Iran, or

46:32

so. That seems

46:34

to be an accusation. I just kind

46:36

of. Moved. Aside. Might

46:39

I suggest you Anthony that? The

46:41

Resurrection which is what Easter is

46:44

about. That's kind of the linchpin

46:46

of the whole bible. Because.

46:48

If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, the

46:51

whole thing as a joke, because that's what

46:53

the whole thing is built on. But if

46:55

Jesus did rise from the dead, all of

46:57

those other miracles, anything else it's you think

46:59

is wacky that seems sort of fantastic. It's

47:02

like, well, if God can create a universe

47:04

and if he can raise himself from the

47:06

dead, Any other miracle just

47:09

isn't that big of a deal. Heesters

47:11

kind of the biggie good Friday to

47:13

note that that religious terms of heart

47:16

a Good Friday but I don't remember

47:18

way like that's the day he died

47:20

over three days before Easter. As

47:23

a growing up in a baptist church,

47:26

anthony what was the reason Jesus died

47:28

die for our says why did he

47:30

have to do that? That's

47:33

a good question as I let me

47:35

go back to those commandments and it'll

47:37

make perfect sense to you Are murdering?

47:39

Have you ever murdered? Anybody know? jesus

47:42

said that if you've ever been

47:44

angry at somebody unjustly out shriver

47:46

somebody who cut you off whatever

47:48

does you observe your little brother

47:50

whatever and you've got that attitude

47:52

it's like murdering in your heart

47:54

have you ever been angry at

47:56

somebody yeah so you're a murderer

47:58

heart like I am have you

48:00

ever stolen anything? Yeah Um,

48:03

but it only takes one thing. Yeah, that's true.

48:05

That's true. Have you ever told a lie? Yeah,

48:08

everybody lies Have you ever taken

48:10

God's name in vain? I have

48:13

but I think that was it that was an accident But now

48:15

as of now, I know I don't do that God

48:18

is the just judge of the universe.

48:20

He's determined a day that you and

48:22

I are gonna die He's picked it doesn't

48:25

escape his view He's determined your birthday your

48:27

death date and he's written the dash of

48:29

everything in between He

48:32

calls your number you stand before him

48:34

to be judged for

48:37

Eternity the books are

48:39

opened on Anthony. Not only does he see

48:41

what you've done in the

48:43

dark brought into the light thought

48:46

word deed Everything he

48:48

knows because he was an eyewitness to all

48:51

of it Would

48:53

you be innocent or guilty? Would I

48:55

be innocent or guilty? Well, if you

48:57

believe in God if you repent free if I repent

48:59

for my sins before that date that like exact date

49:01

And then no, I wouldn't be guilty. But if I

49:03

did in the yeah That's

49:06

that's pretty warm. It's not cold,

49:08

but it's not hot yet. If a criminal just

49:10

said judge I repent I'm not gonna do it

49:12

anymore. Go. What could you shouldn't do it anymore,

49:14

but you're still guilty How

49:16

can God let a criminal like you go? I

49:20

Don't think it's about letting you go. I think it's like

49:24

It's almost like forgiveness almost I

49:26

agree with that But how can God forgive you

49:28

see if a judge just goes, you know, Anthony.

49:30

He's a nice young man I'm gonna let him

49:32

go you go. You're a corrupt judge. How can

49:34

God let you go? Well, basically

49:36

it's supposed to be like God is supposed

49:39

to forgive you because when you repent for

49:41

your sins You're actually like, you know, you're

49:43

doing it will look like willingly like yourself

49:45

So that means you 100% believe in you're not

49:47

gonna do whatever you did So like let's say I

49:49

go steal something and then I repent

49:52

for my sins that I stole something That means I'm

49:54

basically never gonna steal again and it's supposed to be

49:56

a genuine commitment So that's why he can forgive you

49:58

because you're saying you're never gonna do it again and

50:00

your knowledge in that you did wrong this

50:02

let's go back in the earthly courtroom for a minute you're

50:05

guilty were standing before the judge judge i'm not going

50:07

to do it again and i really really mean it

50:10

the judge is going to say anthony shouldn't

50:12

do those things ever again but you've got

50:14

a find a pay you've got to pay

50:16

your debt let's go

50:18

to god's courtroom in the sky if you will you've

50:22

got a debt you've you've got

50:24

to make a payment for your crimes how

50:26

can god forgive and

50:30

let you go and be released from

50:32

his courtroom of justice paid

50:35

your fine anthony nobody

50:38

nobody to find what

50:41

is good friday you said

50:43

it would probably was that it is you can't not

50:46

today that he died and you even said it

50:48

why did jesus died you got

50:50

a price that's who

50:52

paid your fine jesus died so

50:54

you could be forgiven god is good

50:56

and he's rich in mercy but he's

50:59

just any can't just let people go

51:01

because that's what a corrupt judge doesn't god

51:03

isn't corrupt so god in order to

51:06

be just and the just a fire

51:08

of those who will believe in him sent his son

51:11

to take your punishment that's what he did he

51:13

was beaten and whooped and scourged and spat on

51:15

and hung on a cross he

51:17

was receiving the wrath that you and i

51:19

deserve so that our court case can

51:21

be dismissed he rose from

51:24

the dead which is god's exclamation point

51:26

it is true it really happened your

51:28

debt can be paid if

51:31

and you're using the right language if you

51:33

will repent turn from your sins

51:35

and place your faith in jesus

51:38

christ god says offer give all of

51:40

your sins past present future when you

51:42

die you will be seen as not

51:44

guilty because the righteousness of jesus christ

51:46

is going to be credited to your

51:48

account that's what

51:50

good friday and east are about here's

51:52

the question anthony is

51:54

when i just said to you true or false

51:57

about him time for the if you believe

52:00

being, yeah that's true if you don't believe it's not true. I

52:03

believe that that

52:06

guy in the blue sweatshirt is

52:08

actually God. And

52:10

if I wear a blue sweatshirt when I die, I'm

52:12

going to spend eternity with that guy and we're all

52:14

going to be wearing blue sweatshirts. That's what I believe.

52:16

Is my belief true? No. See,

52:20

belief doesn't matter. The question is the

52:22

object of faith. So

52:24

the question for you is, is what I

52:26

just shared with you true or false? See,

52:28

but then too at the same time, if

52:30

you're supposed to be a believer, it's not

52:32

really about the object for you. You

52:34

know what I'm saying? It's more of like the

52:36

faith. I mean, I guess it's the object when it comes to

52:38

like you dying or stuff like that, but I don't think people

52:40

think of it that deep when they're doing it.

52:43

Well, they might not think of it deep, but

52:45

the question is, is Jesus

52:48

an actual historical figure? Is

52:50

he truly God and flesh? Did he

52:52

really get crucified? Did he really rise

52:55

from the dead? I can't

52:57

really answer that though. Well, you can. Like,

52:59

I wouldn't have anything to back it up. It'd be just that opinion. No,

53:02

you've got a lot to back it up. The

53:05

Bible. You've got eyewitness

53:07

accounts. You've got 500 people who saw

53:09

the resurrection of Jesus Christ, all of

53:11

whom are willing to die. This

53:14

is kind of tricky, but Easter is kind

53:16

of a, it's the big deal in Christianity

53:18

that 500 people saw it. And

53:22

when they had a sword put to their neck to say,

53:24

Rick, can't they all went, I can't Rick ant because I

53:26

saw it. See, I can believe a

53:28

fairy tale. I can believe what my parents told me,

53:31

but if you put a gun to my head, I'm probably going to go,

53:34

just kidding. Don't really. But

53:36

when you see it and you know, it's true, you're

53:38

willing to die. They were all willing to die. And

53:41

most of them did. That's

53:43

what you have to know. It's true. So

53:45

look, Anthony, you're a nice young man,

53:47

but let me just encourage you. Don't

53:49

think that you can kind of get out of this

53:51

with, well, that's up to that guy's thing. That's his

53:54

thing or her thing. It's either

53:56

true or it's false. Yeah. something

54:00

of yeses. You believe it's true? If

54:02

it's true and you're saying, I believe that. My

54:05

God died for me, a sinner.

54:09

What should your response be to that good news? Happy.

54:13

It should be happy, but it should

54:15

also be, wow Lord, if you did that for

54:17

me, I will do anything for you. God

54:19

wants us to be in a relationship with

54:21

Him, to love Him, to serve Him, because

54:23

He has been so good to us and

54:26

it's the right response. So

54:28

you've been trying to maybe think some of these

54:31

things through as an adult now, right? Yeah.

54:34

Alright. Anthony, today is the day

54:36

of salvation for you. Think

54:38

about what we talked about. Repent, put your

54:41

trust in His Son and He will save

54:43

you and you'll inherit eternal life. I'm

54:45

glad I got to meet you. And

54:47

that's another week in the book, Sub-Witness Wednesday.

54:50

We'll be back here next Wednesday with more

54:52

witnessing from the college campuses and we'll be

54:54

back here tomorrow with more Wrenching Radio. And

54:56

until tomorrow, go serve your team.
