Listen. It's a three day weekend. We get its Memorial Day. We

0:03

will pay the proper respect. But if you're planning a summer vacation, unofficially

0:09

it's underway. Rory O'Neil Nbsenior's radio national correspondent here with maybe some changes,

0:14

some sticker shock maybe ahead for us. Rory. Yeah, it's going to

0:19

be crowded and it's going to be expensive. So hopefully if you're planning that

0:23

bucket list trip this summer, you've got something already planned because a lot of

0:27

US hail ability is evaporating quickly. The folks over at Triple A are seeing

0:32

strong demand for European travel. Get this, you know it's driving a lot

0:35

of European travel. M Taylor Swift, Okay, Americans are finding out.

0:42

Americans are finding out it's cheaper to fly to Europe and see Taylor Swift there

0:47

than it is to pay for ticket prices. You are kidding me. The

0:50

host I just disconnected from not five minutes ago is taking the family to Wales

0:55

saying it's a lot lot cheaper to fly everyone off to Wales to see I

1:00

was swiped there. So that's been a factor. But also don't forget the

1:03

Paris Olympics will have huge draw there as well, and a lot of interest

1:07

in Japan. Right now, the yen is way down against the dollar,

1:11

so if you're thinking of a trip there, your dollar will go a long

1:15

way in Japan. Domestically, no surprise, Orlando, Tosolis, New York,

1:19

Vegas also a lot more cruisers this summer. That industry, the rebound

1:23

of that industry after COVID Spectacular. Wow, did we just see a story

1:27

of some Disney layoffs? What about prices for those sort of giant amusement parks

1:34

that we may be dreaming of going to this summer. Yeah, so that

1:38

was a layoff at Pixar. That's just a really reganization thing. Yeah,

1:41

but the theme parks are all going strong. Disney's in a longer term layoff

1:46

thing. But yeah, packed And by the way, if you need help

1:49

planning that Disney vacation, you're going to spend all your time in the phone

1:53

and on your app and scheduling stuff. The real bear. Now, they

1:56

took all the fun out of going to Disney World. Believe me, what's

2:00

the one thing that people don't plan enough in their budget for? I'm I

2:05

have my answer. I'm guessing food, especially for a family of four that

2:08

can eat me out of house and home. But I mean right, because

2:12

as you travel, I mean that can vary a lot too well. I

2:16

would say drinks, both non alcoholic and not alcoholic. It's that because you're

2:22

always picking up the bottle of water at the airport. You're like six forty nine for a bottle at Desani at the airport's you know, suddenly four of

2:29

those and you just dropped thirty bucks on four waters. I think that didn't

2:32

throw you off on budgeting, That is Rory O'Neil, NBC News Radio National

2:37

correspondent, Thanks for your time this morning. Thanks guys,
