We finish out our study of Psalm 119 with a great encouragement from the psalmist - he points us to the Great Shepherd of the Sheep.
The Psalmist looks back over a life lived "Corem Deo."
The Psalmist's enemies draw near to him - but what they find is that the Lord is already there - He is near to His people.
The psalmist continues extolling the wonder the God - the emphasis here is the righteousness of God.
Jake Allen continues our series through Psalm 119...
The psalmist cries out as a servant unto a master - a master who loves him with a steadfast love.
Here, the Psalmist takes a definitive position to walk worthily in the world.  The matter of the heart is the heart of the matter.
The Psalmist rejoices in the Word of God - the Word of God makes him wise - wiser than his enemies and wise to keep his feet from evil.
God is perfectly good, and His Word so sweet, why wouldn't we trust Him?
The resurrection of the Lord Jesus is essential to the Christian faith.  If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.
From the depths of struggle, the Psalmist cries out to the Lord.  He longs for salvation, endures persecution, and he lives in God's steadfast love.  Though maybe a bit surprising, a great text for Palm Sunday!
The One who afflicts us is the One who knows us, loves us, and preserves us.
What are things we long for?  Do we long for the things of this world, or the things of the Lord?  Do we want God's good gifts or do we long for Him?
God's Word is our source of comfort in our afflictions.
God has demonstrated His love for us in providing salvation through His Son Jesus.  Our response is a demonstration of our love for Him - obedience to His law.
The Psalm petitions the Lord to turn his whole life to Him - he enters God's school of sanctification.
Jake Allen preaches from Psalm 119:25-32
As a sojourner on this earth, why would turn to the so-called wisdom of the world instead of turning to the Word of God?
The Psalmist encourages a young man in the blessed way, answering, "How does a young man keep his way pure?"
This the second part to our "State of the Church" series being reminded of what we do what we do and how we do what we do.
Trinity Grace Church - Why we do what we do.
The glory and wonder of the incarnation of Christ!
