Tascam DR-60D MKII Recorder for DSLR Cameras Gone are the days of bad, muffled, or blown out audio from your DSLR camera. Tascam has developed a new portable recorder made especially for DSLR cameras. The Tascam DR-60D recorder has a tripod mount and intergrades perfectly with almost any camera brand. The recorder has two XLR inputs that feeds into Tascams HDDA Mic Preamps with phantom power for condenser mics. The front panel has easily accessible controls for pre amp gain and other controls for easy quick adjustments. These are recorded at audiophile resolution with premium analog to digital converters that provides quality that outshines the camera. You can plug in other sources for 4 track recording as well. Dual recording enables a safety track of the audio at a lower level, so if an actor shouts a line the camera has a non distorted back-up copy. There is also a limiter and high and low pass filter to avoid over driving the tracks. The DR-60 records broadcast wave files time stamped with the time of day to SD card media.Camera output allows the DR60D to be synchronized with your camera. Attenuated down to mic level to avoid distortion. The camera also has a slate function that records a tone for perfect sync. This is the next generation of 4-track solid state recording.Beachtek DXA-SLR for DLSR Cameras Beachtek a proven brand for camera audio has recently come out with its DXA-SLR Pro. The gain for these are located on the back. This is an active SLR adapter it allows you to adapt two XLR inputs to work with a single mini input. It is called an active adapter cause it powers phantom to necessary channels.  Weighs about 180z without battery and is powered by a 9v battery. Tripod mountable. There are high/low switches for both inputs depending on mic sensitivity. This also features an automatic gain control disable function that sends a 20khz tone to the left channel tricking the camera into disabling the AGC.
