Popular Reviews of The Uncertain Hour

Each season of The Uncertain Hour is about a controversial topic we think we know about but don't really have the details on, and we certainly don't know how that issue is being impacted positively or negatively by the government in the U.S. (because that would be too transparent and we'd probably never re-elect anyone). This season was about drug addiction and how it impacts communities, and of course, what the government is or is not doing about it.

The seasons are brief but present subject matter I haven't heard anyone cover before. Excellent, excellent program.

PLEASE COME BACK! Season 1 of the Uncertain Hour was so incredibly interesting. They broke down the history of welfare in the U.S. and how most of what we know about it is completely wrong. Particularly interesting was the episode on on Oklahoma and how completely messed up it is.

This is one of my top-ten favourite podcasts. The topic of welfare and government assistance is so important, and it feels like most people (myself included) do not really know how it works. The Marketplace team are the perfect people to take the long deep dive on this.

This gets better with each season. Season three's deep-dive into the Drug War and opioid epidemic was particularly good work.
