Stephen Shu is a Visiting Lecturer at Cornell University, Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, and will join the faculty as a Professor of Practice in July 2023. Dr. Shu is most recognized for helping to incubate some of the very first behavioral economics initiatives around the world in the commercial sector. His expertise is in behavioral finance, and he has worked with numerous companies in the retirement, wealth, investment, banking, advisory, and FinTech spaces.

In this episode, Philip and Dr. Shu explore how to successfully navigate an ever-accelerating world where we are often presented with more data than we can handle, resulting in biased decisions that limit our willingness or ability to absorb useful information and make progress. They provide insight on utilizing behavioral economics principles, taking a slow approach ( as in Daniel Kahneman's fast and slow thinking), and seek out reliable, independent sources when formulating long-term plans such as retirement investing.
