I found this show during a week of doing home improvements and quickly binged through all available episodes. It’s obvious this show is a labor of love to its creators. The storage papers seem like just some strange and interesting documents that were stumbled upon...until they start reflecting /affecting aspects of the readers life. I can’t wait to see where else this show goes.
The Storage PapersThanks for listening! I hope you have more home improvements to complete because Season 3 is coming May 11!
If you enjoyed The Magnus Archives ... keep reading. I'm several episodes into the papes, as I call it. It's scary as hell, well-told, gripping, and inventive. You'll never forget the Grinner, even when you want to because it's past bedtime. Get on the papes. Get everyone to call it "the papes". I'm trying to start a movement.
Awesome podcast - just gets better as the life of the narrator is woven into the papers themselves.
The Storage PapersThanks Jess! It's just the tip of the iceberg for Jeremy, muahhhh.
Thoroughly enjoy every episode that I have listened to so far and can't wait to see where it goes. The Licker is disgusting.
The Storage PapersThat's the way we like things... disgusting!
Scary in a way that few podcasts duplicate. Great story telling, scripts, and pace.
Lasted until the first episode of second season hoping for a big reveal to make it a bit more interesting and compelling, turns out it's all tied to religious imaginary, demons, exorcism and so on. Really not my cup of tea sorry.
A great binge-able show! At first it seems as though it is solely an anthology of stories, they soon begin to bleed into the main characters life. If you are looking to scratch a Magnus Archive itch, or simply looking for a great show, you really can't go wrong by checking out The Storage Papers. The creators care, and are consistent, they understand the social contract between creator and audience and never fail in upholding it!
Excellently horrible slow burn story, I look forward to finding out what awful things happen to Jeremy and the gang.
I really, really wanted to like this show. It's got a ton of bits I like-- found footage style reports, unidentified material from a dubious source, a host getting mysterious and threatening phone calls...It just didn't come together for me. On their own, each bit is fine. Maybe not exceptional, but solid. But all together, they somehow are less than the sum of their parts. It sets up the expectation that these threads are going to come together into a meta-story, but I got 3/4s of the way through the first season with very little progress toward anything cohesive, and the stories themselves aren't quite enough to hold my interest. Some are fantastic! Ice Cream Man was very cool, and very creepy! There's just not enough setting this show apart from others using the same conventions to keep me coming back.(Since there isn't a way to say something about the show without a star rating, and I have no interest in messing with the findability of the show just because it isn't for me, it's getting 5 stars)
An excellent episodic story of horror, in which the episodes seem to be self-contained, but which builds into an overarching narrative - sound familiar? If you liked 'Magnus Archives', this is for you. It's not a clone or a carbon copy, but has many of the same characteristics, including interesting one-off concepts, a building mythology, and good production values. Have a listen.
Not very engaging + terrible sound design
Three seasons in and I am not particularly invested in this world or its characters. The Storage Papers feels like it wants to be a big conspiracy unraveling in front of you but it falls short. Specific episodes can still be pretty enjoyable but the overarching narrative isn't pulling together for me. Part of it is definitely the direction the show went in isn't my preference but another part is that well the elements feel just okay. The sound production is still kind of shaky but not awful. The narrative works but doesn't stand out. The show's not bad - it just doesn't stand out.Ultimately, I'm still listening to it. It's an easy way to pass the time.
I just finished season 1 of The Storage Papers and my god did I enjoy this! I was hooked right from the start as the stories were genuinely creepy. The overarching storyline has a good pace, and I'm curious to see what season 2 will bring. If you like horror audio dramas in the format of TMA, I'm sure you'll enjoy this one. I wish we not only learn more about the mystery in the upcoming season, but also more about Jeremy himself. Giving this a 4.5 / 5 stars now, rounded up
I found this podcast on Monday and I'm hooked. I'm extremely picky about my podcasts. (I was intro'd via TAZ: Balance) This podcast is a slow build to scary. I love it. Thank y'all so much for the effort and love you've obviously put into this podcast.
