I would give this podcast three stars, because I liked the people involved and the premise. However, I feel much of the potential for such an interesting concept was wasted along the way. The first episode, with the exquisite film The Exorcist, turned out to be frustrating, because there were no rules established beforehand for how Vogt should watch these movies. I was also disappointed by the Ari Aster episode, where a lot of nuance of the movies remained not discussed, ultimately. Those two movies were rich enough to deserve an episode each. The whole show rushed over the whole genre experience, I felt. But having said all that, it is still entertaining for a casual listener. Just don't go into it looking for a thorough appreciation of the horror genre. This is more about the fun conversations, and Vogt's extreme aversion to feeling scared.
