Hey, happy Friday, you lovely human.
0:02
How are you today? Hope you're doing well.
0:06
In today's bonus episode, I want to
0:08
delve into something very close to my heart
0:10
and crucial for everybody's mental
0:12
wellbeing. The belief
0:15
in our inherent worth.
0:18
The idea that you are
0:20
enough as you are. Many
0:23
of us, at some point in our lives, find
0:25
ourselves questioning our value.
0:28
Whether we're struggling with anxiety,
0:31
depression or self esteem, it's
0:33
not uncommon to feel less
0:35
than. Unworthy.
0:37
Simply not enough
0:40
as you are. But here's something I want to emphasise
0:42
today, and forgive me if I bore you, because
0:44
I'm going to say it a lot. But, you
0:47
are good enough. Every
0:49
single one of you. No exceptions.
0:52
This belief in our worth is
0:55
the foundation for good mental
0:57
health, yet So many of us
0:59
have been conditioned to think otherwise.
1:02
Maybe it's the critical inner
1:04
voice that we've nurtured over the years,
1:06
or maybe societal messages
1:09
that equate our value with
1:11
some sort of success, appearance,
1:13
status. Whatever the source,
1:16
consider the UN Declaration of
1:18
Human Rights, Article 1, which
1:21
states, All human
1:23
beings are born free
1:25
and equal in dignity and
1:27
rights. And this applies to you,
1:29
too. You are not an exception to
1:31
this. You deserve
1:34
respect, love and dignity
1:36
just like anyone else. But you might
1:39
believe that you're an exception to that.
1:41
And that's why we need that foundation of self
1:43
esteem. To help us withstand
1:45
any challenges that life throws
1:47
at us. So that whatever mistakes
1:50
we make, we can still know
1:52
and feel that our value isn't based
1:55
on external achievements
1:57
or possessions. You were born
2:00
good enough and nothing has changed.
2:03
So, first off, start
2:06
paying attention to how you talk
2:08
to yourself. Every time you find
2:10
yourself being somewhat self
2:12
critical, pause and
2:15
remind yourself. I
2:17
am worthy. I am enough.
2:20
And I know it might feel awkward or
2:22
forced at first, but with repetition,
2:25
it becomes a part of your mental landscape.
2:28
Affirmations are very helpful providing they've been
2:30
constructed properly and they're realistic.
2:33
So you might have to start with I can
2:35
be, or I will be, rather
2:38
than I am for some affirmations.
2:40
And that's why hypnotherapy can be so helpful.
2:43
It's not just for phobias and habits, but. It's
2:45
also a really profound tool for reinforcing
2:48
a sense of self worth. Now,
2:50
if you're already meditating, as a lot
2:52
of people do, then you're halfway
2:55
there. Because hypnosis is a lot like meditation,
2:57
but it's with a purpose. It
3:00
targets specific thoughts
3:02
and behaviours, helping you to change
3:04
them at an automatic, subconscious
3:07
level. But you don't need to take a quarter
3:09
of an hour out of your day to go and lie down and listen
3:11
to a recording. You can do
3:13
if you like. Subscribe to my newsletter
3:15
on my website. You'll get a link to some
3:17
free ones of mine that'll really help.
3:20
But affirmations can also be
3:22
integrated into your daily life.
3:24
So you can say them out loud if it's appropriate.
3:26
Certainly write them down. Set them as reminders
3:29
on your phone if you like. Make
3:31
the correct sort of affirmations like
3:34
I can be strong or I
3:36
can be capable. I am
3:38
safe. I am brave. I
3:40
am complete. Make things like that
3:42
part of your routine. But remember,
3:45
this is your journey. This isn't about living
3:47
up to somebody else's standards or impressing
3:50
somebody else. It's about recognising
3:52
your inherent value and
3:55
giving yourself permission to be who you are,
3:58
complete and enough.
4:00
And if the idea that you are good enough
4:02
feels wrong, or you push against it,
4:05
consider that a sign that you've been influenced,
4:07
maybe even brainwashed, by
4:09
external or even internal messages.
4:13
Challenge those messages. Affirm
4:16
your worth, your dignity,
4:18
your right to respect
4:20
and love. And you don't need a bigger house or
4:22
a new phone or anything material
4:25
to increase your value. Know
4:28
that you are complete as you
4:30
are. And if society or anybody else has
4:32
made you feel and think otherwise, then that's
4:34
their mistake. Because You
4:37
are good enough. Now
4:40
I hope this episode resonates with some of you
4:42
and serves as a nudge towards embracing
4:44
your worth. If you'd like to hear more,
4:46
do please consider coming on board on

4:57
the free ones that newsletter subscribers get,
5:00
although you can go and get those as well if you like. But
5:02
I'll leave you to your day, have a great weekend,
5:04
and I'll speak to you again next week. Take
5:07
care!
