Am I the only one who finds it curious that coverage of this parliamentary inquiry of great public interest was tucked away on the little-watched BBC News Channel, whereas the result of the SNP leadership election - important, yes, but arguably of limited public interest outside Scotland - gets its own news special fronted by Huw Edwards on BBC1? The cynic in me makes me think a high level decision was made to spare the wretched and disgraced former prime minister's blushes to a wider audience. His grilling merited at the very least a news special on BBC2, so why didn't it happen?
