#018 - Welcome back to the Malvern College podcast where we bring together the community to explore more about life inside and outside the school from the point of view of pupils, staff and parents. Each week we’ll be talking to one of the members of the community to find out more, hear their stories and get a little deeper into the fabric of life around the school.

In this podcast we’re talking to Sheenagh Brighton-Goedalls from the English department at Malvern College, and she’s joined by Lucy and Finn, pupils at the school.

So we ask Sheenagh the question what is English and we discuss whether literacy is becoming more an issue due to how young people communicate with each other. But then we hear a pupil perspective from Lucy and Finn, finding out why they chose English at A level, what they don’t enjoy and how they might state their case to a Year 11 student thinking about what to study at A level. Come with me now as we step into this conversation.
