Hey everyone , thank you so much for joining
0:05
me here on the Impactful
0:07
Influencer podcast . Today
0:10
, I really want to talk about new value
0:12
systems . It's one
0:14
of the predictions that I
0:17
gave at the beginning of the year of 2024
0:19
, and here we are creating
0:22
new value systems . So , as we step into
0:25
the unfolding chapters
0:27
of 2024 , I
0:29
find it very pertinent to
0:32
revisit this question on
0:34
a daily basis . What
0:38
does it take to create new
0:40
values ? In
0:45
my recent discussions and prediction
0:47
for this year , the spotlight
0:50
has been on the
0:52
assessment and evolution
0:54
of what we do value
0:56
. We are currently
0:58
witnessing this transformation in
1:01
real time , echoed through
1:03
the headlines and
1:05
the evidence in global
1:07
events . There's
1:10
clashes everywhere , and
1:12
the clashes that unfold before
1:14
us serve as a very
1:16
strong reminder
1:19
of the ongoing struggle
1:21
between those firmly rooted
1:24
in the old value system
1:26
and those advocating
1:29
for the new paradigm to come in . So
1:32
, as the world grapples with these clashes
1:35
, it becomes increasingly clear
1:37
that the journey forward
1:39
embracing
1:42
new values is both challenging
1:44
but yet inevitable
1:46
. It
1:49
requires a willingness to
1:51
let go of outdated perspectives
1:53
, outdated ideals
1:56
, outdated thoughts
1:58
and visions of what we thought
2:00
the future would be , and to embrace
2:03
the unfamiliar , which
2:05
is where the real fear resides
2:08
. Right , we know
2:10
that we are in creation times
2:12
, that we are in this shift of
2:14
paradigms , and it
2:16
can lead to much fear
2:18
. When we are in shifting
2:21
paradigms , there's
2:24
fear of the unknown , fear of the unseen
2:26
. Not really being able to repeat
2:28
the same old pattern and
2:30
getting the same old response can
2:33
be very scary . So
2:36
the clashes that we are witnessing are
2:39
not mere conflicts
2:41
, right , they are symbols
2:44
, symbols of the
2:46
collision between tradition and
2:49
evolution , holding
2:52
people in oppression versus
2:54
freedom . Influencing
2:58
the world with new values can
3:00
be challenging , but
3:03
there are a few steps to
3:05
consider as we seek to
3:07
make positive impacts on
3:09
the world and as impactful
3:12
influencers . I think that
3:14
we are the leaders of
3:16
these four areas that I
3:18
want to talk about and
3:20
how we can actually implement them in our
3:22
lives and how we can share them
3:24
with the rest of the world . So
3:27
number one is literally clarifying
3:29
your values , like what is it that
3:31
you really place value on
3:33
? And
3:36
, before influencing others , I
3:39
believe that we need to have a very
3:41
clear understanding of
3:44
our own values , identifying
3:47
those principles and those beliefs , literally
3:51
, that guide all of your actions
3:53
and your decisions . We
3:55
need to be very clear about
3:57
what those are . Step
4:01
two lead by example
4:03
, demonstrate
4:05
the values that you wish to promote
4:08
in the world . You need to be
4:10
that person . We
4:12
are all more influenced by actions
4:14
than words , so embody
4:17
what you want to see in
4:19
the changes that you want to see in the world
4:21
. You have to
4:23
be the change that you desire
4:26
in the world . There's no getting around
4:28
this portion of it . No matter
4:30
what paradigm we're changing into , there's
4:33
still . We still need to embody that . Step
4:36
three communication . Be
4:39
open and respectful in
4:42
conversations about values . Actually
4:45
, how many of us have
4:47
conversations about values
4:49
? I
4:51
can say I rarely do with
4:53
people . Other people , people
4:56
don't want to talk about what they value , even
5:00
though it's explicitly expressed
5:03
in every conversation that we have
5:05
Diverse
5:09
backgrounds and perspectives , have
5:12
different viewpoints . Being
5:14
open to hearing
5:16
them is really the key
5:19
to communication Listening
5:21
skills . I talk about that frequently
5:23
. Step four
5:26
critical thinking . Create
5:29
an environment that encourages
5:32
critical thinking . Question
5:37
assumptions and consider alternative
5:40
perspectives . This
5:42
empowers people to reassess
5:44
their own values . The
5:47
easiest way I know to
5:50
activate critical
5:52
thinking in people is to ask conscious
5:55
piercing questions or
5:57
soul piercing questions . One
5:59
is that really make
6:02
people stop and really
6:04
assess what is it that
6:06
they are talking about and what
6:08
is it that they believe . Creating
6:12
new values demands open
6:14
dialogue . It
6:18
demands empathy . It
6:20
demands a collective effort to understand
6:22
different and maybe
6:25
diverse perspectives . It
6:27
calls for a recognition that change
6:30
is an inherent part of
6:32
progress and adapting
6:35
to this shift is essential
6:37
. It's
6:42
important to understand
6:44
that we are not
6:46
in a very harmonious coexistence
6:48
. We
6:52
have been living in a not very harmonious existence
6:56
. I don't know
6:58
about you , but that's one of the things
7:00
that I value moving forward
7:03
and that impact can be felt
7:05
in a variety of ways , big
7:08
and small . So
7:11
in the coming months , we're going to see more
7:13
conflict
7:15
in value systems
7:18
. So
7:20
let us engage in very meaningful
7:22
conversations with everyone
7:24
we know . Let's
7:27
foster an environment where the
7:29
exchange of ideas
7:31
is literally encouraged
7:33
, where
7:38
personal genius and intuition
7:40
become the norm , versus
7:43
being told how to think and
7:46
how to feel and what to
7:48
do . We
7:51
are all personally ready to create
7:53
a whole new value system that reflects
7:55
the diversity and dynamics
7:58
of
8:02
an ever-evolving world , that
8:06
literally encourages your
8:10
own personal genius . Can
8:12
you feel that ? Can
8:15
you just imagine a world
8:17
where all of
8:19
your genius was encouraged
8:22
from birth ? That's
8:25
the kind of world that want to live in . Thank
