In this episode we talk to David Singleton, a PhD student working on the Small Animal Veterinary Surveillance Network (SAVSNET). This huge network collects anonymised data from veterinary practices and laboratories across the country. Since antimicrobial resistance is an important topic in healthcare today, David has been using the database to analyse antibiotic use in companion animal medicine. Some of his results have been published in a paper, "Patterns of antimicrobial agent prescription in a sentinel population of canine and feline veterinary practices in the United Kingdom.", which can be found here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28697871
