As the 2016-17 President of Ventura’s Oceanview Toastmasters Club, award-winning Speaker Rasika Mathur motivated members to organize themselves to write, schedule and deliver speeches and encourage positive, supportive feedback and she helped cultivate an environment that fueled personal growth in overcoming fears in public speaking. Pursuing her second 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training certification has also inspired her to bring in more meditation and grounding techniques into performing, speaking and daily living. She is also exploring her empathic gifts with animals and relies on her intuition and ability to attune to her clients as a Mental Health Facilitator in her work with addiction-recovering patients. She has worked in the Writers Room for Kevin Hart’s Digital Comedy Company, Hartbeat presents LOL, on AMC’s ad agency competition The Pitch, as an Improv comedian on 7 seasons on MTV's Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out! and appeared on My Name is Earl, Weeds, Crazy Stupid Love, the NBC series Abby’s, and the 2018 revival of Will & Grace. Rasika also has an Award-winning Music Video & Comedy Album, The Sari (W)rap, produced by Rukus Avenue, available on iTunes. She’s also been a Sketch Comedy and Storytelling Festival favorite as 1/3 of Siblings of Doctors, and a Hollywood Fringe 2017 Scholarship Winner for her one woman show My Hustle Has ADHD. She has crafted award-winning copy for Leo Burnett, Burrell Communications and excelled at writing witty dialogue and comedy routines for commercial radio at several agencies. Her story Rising From The Ashes - about surviving the Thomas Fire and believing in miracles - has been heard from Ojai to Ventura College to Santa Monica and all points in between.
