My sweet friend, Cathy Holt, is a certified HeartMath coach and a certified Connection Practice coach, offering heart-based communication, holistic healing, and resilience coaching. In this episode, she walks us through the simple steps of Quick Coherence. In a matter of minutes, you will feel empowered by your own ability to make your heart rate consistent and smooth as you transition into your parasympathetic nervous system, activating the parts of your brain responsible for empathy and problem-solving. Imagine the effect of THESE vibes on folks within your ten-feet range!

She is also a climate activist and founder of the Energy Justice Listening Project. The EJLP was created to get input from the Asheville community that can help us collectively plan for and create our energy future. It was inspired in part by the youth-led Sunrise Movement that pressed City Council to pass a Climate Emergency Resolution. It states that by 2030, the city will be using 100% renewable energy. The Resolution also says that moving to a climate-safe economy must be fair and benefit all of us equally. This means inviting active participation by all communities in planning and implementing the changes needed to reach this goal.  The mission is “To hear the priorities, creative ideas, and hopes from people of all sectors of the community about an equitable and just transition to clean energy, and to make it happen.” If you would like to get involved, be a listener (interviewer), or be interviewed, please contact Cathy at [email protected]. To stay apprised of events and outreach "Like" the Energy Justice Listening Project on Facebook.

Wow, I had to work through some issues to get this one out! In our efforts to improve the sound quality, we used a new mic and boom which fell over, deleting the podcast. Take two the next day, the mic had been used by another family member and was not on the proper setting for the podcast. I sound a bit like I am in a tunnel. I hope y'all can hang. We are learning!

Many thanks to Ani DiFranco for the use of the awesome song Evolve! Let's do that, shall we?
