I am sooo excited to bring you this wonderful conversation from my dear friend, Adrian Leckie. Adrian is a speaker and community leader residing in Toronto, Ontario. Through his leadership in the Imani Black Academic Mentorship Program at the University of Toronto Scarborough, he empowers Black youth to access higher education, fostering their confidence and unleashing their potential. With a passion for equity, Adrian's mission revolves around guiding and inspiring young minds, showcasing the transformative power of mentorship and diversity, as a Youth Empowerment Speaker and Coach.
In this chat, we discuss his journey into public speaker and his recent success as the second place winner of the Speaker Slam competition, "Belonging". We discuss how his passion for bringing people entertainment through acting became a double-edged sword that fueled internal insecurities, and how finding his way through community has fueled how he provides community in his professional life now. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!
