The first time I heard Strong Songs, it was the episode about "Dancing Queen". It's a song I've heard a babillion times in my life, and was actually kind of sick of it. That episode changed it for me - Kirk reconstructed the song and explained it bit by bit, and after that I just adore the song. That's the thing about Kirk: he has this way of explaining complex music theory concepts in an easy-to-understand way. And his enthusiasm is just addictive. If you love music at all and want to get behind the songs you love and don't love, listen to this podcast. I get goose bumps in almost every episode.

This is an excellent way to become a better listener of music and learn some music theory by accident. The host is pleasant and knowledgeable, often funny, and always enthusiastic!

Every episode delivers bucketloads of musical insight in a way that is fun, funny, engaging, and just plain joyous.I recommend starting from episode one and listening in order, as the concepts and terms build up over time in a natural and effortless manner.

Recently started listening, and I'm not musical so I have to listen quite hard, but I learned to appreciate some great songs even more. The choice of songs is perfect for me.
