In the Spring of 2010 StoryCorps, a national initiative to document the unique stories of Americans arrived in Albuquerque to collect the stories of New Mexico's Latino residents as part of its Historias Initiative. Historias, which means 'stories' in Spanish, is an ongoing initiative to record and honor the diversity of Latino culture. They collected over 160 interviews by the end of their six week stay. This podcast features some of those interviews. The StoryCorps project in Albuquerque was made possible with support from the National Hispanic Cultural Center and a grant from the New Mexico Humanities Council. StoryCorps Historias airs Tuesday mornings during Morning Edition, and again in the evening during All Things Considered.
