Nicolson has risen through the ranks to gain recognition as one of Australia's premier female boxers with over 140 amateur fights under her belt. 
Nicolson won Australia's first elite women's World Titles medal in 2016, which is an honour also won by her late brother Jamie who brought home Australia's first elite men's medal in 1989.  

Nicholson went on to win a Gold medal in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018 and has not stopped there. Qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics was a dream for the 24yr old featherweight, and the current world climate and postponement of the games has not diminished her spirit.
