Newcastle Knights fans know Josh Perry for his hardness and unrelenting competitiveness. This week on the Spin on Sport podcast, Damo sits down with the former Origin and Australian representative and gets an inside look into Josh’s illustrious career, as well as the mental and physical toll a career in the NRL has.  

Making his debut in 2000, Perry emerged on the scene as a wrecking ball for the Knights, playing a key role in their 2001 grand final win against Parramatta and went on to play over 255 games across three clubs, including a brief stint in the UK with St. Helens between 2011-2013.  

After retiring at the end of the ’13 season, Perry returned to Australia and is now a business owner and builder based in the beautiful Byron Bay.  

Josh talks us through the highs and lows of his 13-year career, how being too comfortable in his environment negatively impacted his football and how making the right decisions, instead of the easy one, significantly changed his life for the better and set him up for a successful career post footy.
