You want to work with sharks? Be part of an amazing research team? Go on a true adventure? Swim amongst great hammerhead sharks, catch baby nurse sharks with your bare hands, search for juvenile lemon sharks in the mangrove forests? Look no further than the famous Bimini Biological Field Station aka 'The Sharklab'. You will have seen it before, as it has been featured in every other shark documentary on TV, for good reason. But what's the life behind the scenes like, as a volunteer in one of the 'sharkiest' places on earth? This is what we talked about with Emily Spurgeon and Ellie Richardson. The are volunteers for The Sharklab and shared with us how they ended up in the idyllic island of Bimini and what the everyday adventure in shark science looks and feels like. I am sure that you will learn lots of new and exciting facts about sharks and who knows, hopefully you will be part of the follow-up episode next time we visit The Bahamas and encounter you as the next volunteer of the station! Let's dive right in!
