Podcast is pretty good, but the hosts have a habit of gossiping about things they don't have a clue about; speaking with the same authority as the cases which they've researched - kinda annoying
I was wavering on my enjoyment on this one as the hosts would swerve into hearsay, gossip and chatting about a case with unwarranted authority. The last straw was the Bobbit podcast. Giggling about genital mutilation, really. Using the excuse that 'this is what people at the time were saying" is pathetic.
Love love love these ladies!! They tell their stories wonderfully! I thoroughly enjoy their well researched stories. Even the most gruesome stories are told with the victim and listener in mind. I’m looking forward to the day when the ladies bring their live show to the US so that I may see them in person!
I used to love this podcast. But a well-known and respected UK true crime professional, who has literally changed the laws to protect victims, was excluded from their book and audiobook at the very last minute because the podcasters bowed to their fans' beliefs that she was a TERF. Reason? This professional expressed concern about how law enforcers and prison officials needed to make policy and learn about transgender individuals so that they would not be manipulated by sociopathic offenders playing with the system, trying to be moved around the prison system to waste time and money. It's a legitimate concern: we need to prepare our legal system in order to care properly and compassionately for the LGBTQ population, and to be aware that manipulative offenders will use any opportunity to buck the system, and professionals need to be prepared with protocols to respond. The podcasters broke their book contract in response to their fans' ignorant outcry to this and excluded this tenured and wise true crime professional. I will never quite feel the same about this podcast.
The hosts are sharp, wildly funny and both are phenomenal storytellers. This podcast deserves 10 stars.
Sad with how this podcast turned out, after being a long time listener. Cases are good and often unexplored by other creators, but there nothing relaxing about how every NEW episode berates men, over and over and over. This is primarily an issue of the medium, not the message. It's just not suitable to interrupt the introduction to a story, to talk about a broader issue. All momentum lost. You take the listener out of the suspense, to listen to your opinions and it is very odd. With this being said, early episodes are great. I think it might be the case that Hannah just isn't a very nice person, is very hurt deep down. Siru is very pleasant to listen to.
Such a good podcast!!! The only downside is eventually making it through the back catalogue and having to wait for weekly releases again.
Love them! They are so funny and their accents are the best
Both of the hosts have adopted a highly irritating vocal fry, with an additional tendency to end many sentences with question-like upticks. I had to switch off their latest episode as a result. Sorry ladies, but these speaking styles make you sound like wannabe Kardashians, and less intelligent than you probably are.
I absolutely LOVE Hannah and Suruthi!RedHanded is a truly amazing podcast, thoroughly researched, invigorating cases, darkly humorous and delivered with a compassion for victims, and their families that touches the heart. If you haven’t already, follow Redhanded every week! -Now, “Get in the Bin!”
Love this Podcast. The way the girls interact and tell the story. One thing ladies, don’t be too quick to always blame police for legal oversight and stuff ups. Quite often it’s the judicial system and not Police. I’m referring to Episode 73, Mary Vincent. I’m sure the police had nothing to do with Lawrence Singleton being released from prison, as you criticised police. The judicial system had a hand in this, as much as to the publics’ AND police frustration!
Terrible. I thought mind's of madness was the worst crime podcast I've encountered but this is much worse. I tried to persevere but could only take 5 minutes. The women sound incredibly caddy and will stop telling the store and start going on a tangent of their own opinions or gossip. The voices are also extremely hard to listen over exaggerated and too loud compared to the recordings they play. You'll have to tu your phone right up to here a recording and then quickly turn it down before they start talking again. If you're a true crime fan don't even bother it will make your ears and brain hurt.
Absolutely love this show
Suruthi and Hannah are like friends chatting to us about True Crime in a sensitive yet humourous way . Also I love the feminist discussions!
I work by myself outside in an orchard 40 hours a week. I started in December and I am up to recent posts. I am grateful for you ladies. You've made me laugh, raise my eyebrows and even roll my eyes, but most of all you've kept me coming back for mor3. Your podcast has stimulated my inquisitive mind and now I use it 80% more than I did before. As soon as I can afford it I will patreon you but in the meantime, keep it up. Tonight for example I am watching documentaries on Vladimir Putin... thats thanks to you girls. KEEP IT UP LOVE FROM NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿
I love your podcasts they are so cool and interesting to listen to
These girls irritatingly trivialize some serious stuff. I don’t think listeners looking for true crime need the story littered with their immature banter. I prefer sticking to the subject matter without trying to be cute. My opinion, I guess.
I listened to to General Butt Naked podcast and the girls recommended to watch The redemption of General Butt naked documentary. There were many lines that the girls used which were lifted directly from the documentary. There is too much giggling which appears to be forced and comes across as childish. The swearing really is uneccessary. Girls please, keep your politics out of the Podcasts, nobody cares. I can't listen anymore to this podcast.
I really enjoy this podcast a lot. They are both really fun and I love their personalities. The only thing that made me drop a star, is I think they can sound a bit ignorant, especially when discussing drug use and mental illness.
The Very best of true crime podcasts. ❤️❤️?
