Gavan Kearney is a well-known exponent of responsible aesthetics in art. Gavan's paintings range from portraiture, landscapes and group scenes to metaphysical and symbolically infused, otherworldly fantasies. Born in Cork, Ireland, Gavan relocated to London in the early 90's, where he took a degree in Fine Arts (with a Minor in Sonic Arts). Gavan is also a musician, and has been writing, recording and releasing music under the moniker Sand Snowman since 2005. During Hour 1 of our interview with Gavan Kearney he gives us an overview of his background, influences and valuable art theories. After that, in Hour 2, he elucidates the actuality of Modern anti-aesthetics — explaining what brought about the ugliness that was so widely promoted by the art industry in the 20th century.
