Robert Sullivan is the author of The Meadowlands, A Whale Hunt, Rats, and The Thoreau You Don't Know, among other books. He has written for numerous magazines and newspapers, such as The New York Times, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, GQ, and Vogue. His latest book, My American Revolution, is a consideration of the Revolutionary War and the landscape of New York City. He now lives in Brooklyn, but as a boy had a good view of Queens, living in Nassau County just one block east of its border.
