RATING
The story? Phenomenal. The characters? Wonderful. The sound design? Breathtaking. You NEED to check this show out. It's so engaging and the sound design takes my breath away. The characters have amazing chemistry and I love them so much. I can't wait to see what happens next!
It got quite interesting at the end, even though the story itself seems a little bit too... naive? I don't know, just something about the way the characters talk and act, the way it is executed does not sit too well with me. Just bad writing, maybe. The podcast seems to have been abandoned, so I'll wrap it up as an okay listen but it didn't touch me emotionally at all.
I am hoping to increase score as I listen to more, but so far I am finding the melodrama and cliche too heavy for me. Probably perfect for many others. One to many random maniacal laughs for no apparent reason.(Another minor point is that it feels like podcasters in general are either listening to too many podcasts, or recycling the same source material, as the first episode is called Tiamat, and Tiamat is referenced in multiple other podcasts I have listened to)
Jordan Cobb doesn't just create stories, but entire WORLDS with depth & terrifying accuracy, that allow you to explore yourself through the telling of them - oh, & they're A LOT of fun, too !!! Primordial Deep not only keeps that tradition but, with the rest of the sound design & music team, I think they may have raised the bar again.
Very well told and spooky, with some gripping action sequences and one or two genuinely horrific moments. Recommended - look forward to season two!
The story, the voice acting, and the writing are all fantastic. A lot of fun to dive into and it does a great job with tense moments from environments and between characters.
Not gonna lie, the "spooky sea" concept had me a little dubious, but pushing my fears aside.... Okay probably shouldn't have done that because shit this podcast is SCARY, but also SO GOOD. Like, incredibly good. Particularly enjoy the monologues that bookend most episodes, but that's probably because most of the rest of the time I'm on the edge of my seat. The acting is phenomenal, the writing is of course brilliant. The music is gorgeous and atmospheric. The story itself is really interesting and i'm super excited to see where it goes!
