In this fun two-part series, I thought it would be fun to talk about a few of my favorite quotes and affirmations. In this episode, I celebrate one from Martin Luther King, Jr., which is all about faith and taking that first step.
There’s something powerful about affirmations and I personally rely upon them daily. The way I make them useful throughout my day is to write about them in my journal and reflect on how they affect my mind and help me see things through a different lens. This episode explains how you can do the same.
Faith is taking the first step. You don’t need to see the full staircase, just take the first step.
–Martin Luther King, Jr.
Episode highlights:
- The power of the staircase analogy as a great reminder that you’ve got the green light to let go of your grip.
- If you can’t see far ahead, that’s OK. Just trust that what will be needed will reveal itself at the right time.
- If something truly feels right about the direction you’re going, than use that compass.
- Trust the staircase, and take that road less traveled.
- The act of putting one foot in front of the other and focusing on just a few feet ahead, instead of miles ahead.
- “Work the quote” throughout your day. How does it apply to different situations – in your morning, work day and even your nighttime routine.
Faith is taking the first step. You don’t need to see the full staircase, just take the first step.
