Even as Peter calls people to repentance, he says the promise of God is for "all who are far off." There are few more encouraging thoughts than a Love that pursues us even when we abandon it or find ourselves in a terrible place. What is God's heart for wayward people like us? And how does knowing that help change our wandering hearts to become more like his pursuing one?

What kind of reaction does the phrase, “you can’t sit with us” bring out of you? Were there times where we felt outside of a group that we wanted to be a part of? Explain a time when someone included us into their group. What did that do for you? What part have we played in including others to our group or circle? What do you think it means to be “far off” in verse 39? How does God include those who are “far off”? Take a moment to read Deuteronomy 10:19? What does this show about God’s heart? In Ephesians 2:14, Paul talks about “the dividing wall of hostility.” How has Christ bridged that divide? What does this tell us about His promises (Acts 2:39) and His faithfulness? How is Christianity both inclusive and exclusive? How does the Holiness of Christ expose us? What kind of reaction does the word “expose” bring out of us? How does His grace cover what is exposed? How does community help us in drawing near to God? Why is it important to meet together as the body of Christ? What does Hebrews 10:24-25 tell us about meeting together? What are some specific ways we can “stir” up one another? Explain a time where the community of faith edified and encouraged you. How does the Trinity reflect community? 1 Corinthians 6:9 tells us that our “body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you.” We are called to glorify God with our body and the life that we have. What are some specific and practical ways we can glorify Him in our everyday life? How can others keep you accountable to this? How did the sermon encourage you and challenge you?
