The PKU Life Podcast features interviews with people in the PKU community from across the world. I am Kevin Alexander, an adult living with PKU. I'm a professional videographer and PKU advocate, and I've travelled the world sharing my story of living with PKU, and meeting others in our global PKU community.Phenlyketonuria (PKU) is a rare genetic disorder in which a person's body cannot properly metabolize the amino acid Phenylalanine, which is an essential amino acid in protein. The primary treatment for PKU is a low-protein diet combined with the consumption of a medical drink which contains essential ingredients that someone with PKU cannot get in their unique diets. While there are many great resources online for those seeking practical advice, this show will take a storytelling approach to introduce you to individuals in our community who have interesting stories to tell. Everyone has a story. Everyone.
