It's a neat cross between a fantasy story, a mystery, and a buddy cop story. There's a lot of worldbuilding that's handled simply and directly, and the light banter at the beginning turns serious as the stakes go up further along.

I loved the concept of this so much and the dialogue in the reveal to John. ‘You’re gonna say it’s under that hat’ ‘it’s under the hat’ 😂 Such a fun idea and so well executed. The line between drama and comedy/levity is excellently navigated.
