Episode 1: The Importance of Stories with Rin Heise

“Honestly, I think education’s in my blood.”

HAEd’s podcast has officially opened a new chapter, and this is our debut episode! We speak to Rin Heise (Ed.M. ’20) on what it’s like working with college students during the pandemic, how a passion for learning runs in her family, and why she challenges herself to consider messages in stories that she does not necessarily agree with. At the time of this recording, Rin was working for MIT’s Office of Minority Education as the Program Coordinator for Academic Excellence. She is also a published poet, and kindly closes the conversation with a beautiful poem of hers.

Interviewers: Jasmine Chin, Shu Cao Mo
