Tim Lumsdon Founder and CEO of Marchmont Investment Management.

Marchmont is a leading operating partner to institutional capital specialising in UK real estate strategies. He started his career with BNP Paribas Real Estate, before joining SG Commercial.

He went on to become a Fund Manager at Tritax before setting up the Marchmont business in 2011 and he is responsible for the overall business and investment strategy.

I sat down with Tim to discuss a broad range of subjects which covered some of the following topics:

How he got into real estate

Early career moves

Surface storage

Being an accidental real estate entrepreneur

Pivoting from being a fund to operating partner

Capitalising on institutional inefficiencies

Oh, and one last question - who are the People, what Property, and in which Place would Tim invest should he have £500m of capital at his disposal.
