This is a very charming riff on old timey detective fiction. I'm not familiar with the material it is based on, so I'm not sure how much of the humor is taken from that (if any), but the humor on display here feels genuine. The updated references to the modern world were well-placed and funny. The writing, acting, and sound design were all quite good with a couple minor exceptions. Some of the dialogue was unfortunately recorded either in a subpar space or with subpar equipment because it sounds distant compared to others in the same scene. The experience is constructed better than one might expect from a first go and the concept, like the detective, has legs. I hope to see what this team can do with more resources and support because I bet they'd make every dollar count.
