Rachel Kallem Whitman is an adjunct professor of Psychology at Duquesne University. She is also a writer, activist, and someone I am honored to call my friend. The crux of our conversation is based upon the shared understanding between us that educators should be making learning possible by making sure that students feel safe. Though we didn't reference it in this conversation, Rachel and I have spoken many times about the concept of shared vulnerability. By showing our students that we are human, they are hopefully able to feel safe. Mentioned in the podcast - Can MDMA Treat Racial Trauma - The Nod https://gimletmedia.com/shows/the-nod/v4hvnw?utm_source=gimletWebsite&utm_medium=copyShare&utm_campaign=gimletWebsiteDr. Rach’s website - Check it out!
