Episode 53 finds the crew once again at Opa! (thanks, Opa! staff and customers for putting up with us) discussing folklore, science, and classic children’s lit in the book reviews and the joys of audio to increase books “read.”

We reversed the format for this show discussing technology first by exploring the Overdrive app and audiobooksync.com, which work well together to provide free audiobook downloads each week during the summer.

Hauser jumps off into a review of The Raven Boys as an audio book.  Mauser shares Mary Roach’s newest, Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal, and McElroy reviews the picture book by French author Tomi Ungerer, The Three Robbers.

Corrections: Hauser initially referred to the narrator of The Raven Boys audio as Bill Powers. The correct name is Bill Patton. Also, Prunella Scales was in Fawlty Towers, not Good Neighbors.
