Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen has prematurely extended the contract with Ecuadorian defender Piero Hincapie (21) for another season until 2027. This was confirmed by Sport Managing Director Simon Rolfes on Bild TV on Sunday morning.
"We always want to see from players early on that we have long contracts in order to be in a strong position. That's also the case with Piero. That's why we extended his contract until 2027," said Rolfes.
The factory club had signed the South American in 2021 for 6.4 million euros from Talleres Cordoba from Argentina. With his good performances at the World Cup in Qatar, Hincapie had also attracted the attention of other clubs in Europe. According to Rolfes, the Bayer professional has no exit clause for a fixed transfer fee for a premature move to another club.
