This week, we're featuring an interview with Mateo Palmisano, a writer, recording and mixing engineer, producer, composer and music production educator who has over a decade of experience working on both the recording side and composition side of music across North America and beyond. Mateo’s commitment to creating accessible educational content aligns so well with the goal of OffKey, so I decided it would be fitting to feature his interview in its own episode. We talked about record deals, composing for other artists, accessible technological tools, and how to build oneself up as a small business in a highly competitive music industry.
For listeners in Toronto, Mateo will be leading a 6-part workshop series at the Richview Toronto Public Library starting on November 12th, 2019. You'll learn how to use a Digital Audio Workstation as well as how to produce, record, mix and master your own music, and distribute and market your record.
