We live in a time of great hope and great suffering and we stand at a crossroads where our individual choices become powerful collective choices for how we shall then live. What does it mean to create a peaceful culture, what does peacebuilding mean? What do the concepts of positive and negative peace mean and how can it help us create our more beautiful world we all know is possible. I can think of few things that are more important than to work in the direction of greater inner peace and outer peace in our culture, institutions and governance structures. Can we imagine a world where war is no longer an option. THIS is what we’re talking about. My guest today is the brilliant educator and peacebuilder, Dorothy Maver. She is known by many as Dot. “Dot is a Founding Trustee of the National Peace Academy USA, and is a founder and board member of the Global Alliance for Ministries and Infrastructures of Peace, and the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding. Her work in education, politics and grassroots community organizing is focused on applied peacebuilding utilizing a shared responsibility and shared leadership model.” Please visit www.nationalpeaceacademy.us Or www.centerforpeacebuilding.org for more information about this critical work.
