RATING
This is one of my favourite genres, and Mission Rejected does not disappoint. The tales of the B team are wonderful, as they take on missions rejected by the high-flying secret agents. It has all the warmth of your favourite, brilliantly-funny sitcom, as you immediately become fond of the characters and their foibles.Absolutely superb writing, production and performance, and the whole thing is effortless to listen to, and so needed in these times. * An extra star that won't fit on the rating scheme.
Mission RejectedWe're so thrilled that you enjoy the show! We'll be petitioning Podchaser for a bonus star!
Crazy and oh so much fun! The main characters are all charming (yes, even Bowden!) and the voice acting is as wonderful as the writing. As the world grows and the adventures get even zanier, it never strays into 'jumping the shark' territory (if that's possible for a show was already so far over the shark when it started) or loses any of its sparkling charm as it grows - it just keeps getting better! These are some backups won't dissapoint!
Mission RejectedThank you so much!!
INT. THE LIVING ROOM.[Jerry is sitting on the couch watching the Mets game. George is beside him, eating the interior of a watermelon with a fork. Kramer opens the door and enters.]KRAMER: Fellas, you'll never believe what they'll podcast these days.JERRY: No?KRAMER: No, absolutely not. I've heard them all. GEORGE: Mixed bag more oft than not, but you can't beat that production.JERRY: Sure can't. What did you listen to on the way here, Kramer?KRAMER: Mission: Rejected.JERRY: Well it was more of a request, really.GEORGE: No, I think he means the podcast. I'm quite the fan myself. Some very relatable characters.KRAMER: You are a total Gloria, huh?[GEORGE appears unamused, then shrugs in acceptance.]JERRY: Well what else is good about it?KRAMER: Funny.JERRY: I'll be the judge of that.GEORGE: No Jerry, Kramer's right. I was listening just last week while at calisthenics with the girls, and I almost tripped over my feet from laughing!JERRY: Ah, Occam's Razor is dull, I see.KRAMER: Don't be so sure. He's right– it's funny, I like the guys, and the plots are creative. More exciting than my Sunday plans.GEORGE: And what would those be?[KRAMER removes a large tranquilizer gun from the kitchen cabinet and loads it.]KRAMER: You guys ever heard of a schmuck called Joe Rogan?
Mission Rejected{A knock at the door. Jerry gets up to open it. Behind the door is NEWTON.}NEWTON: Hello, Jerry.JERRY: Hello...Newton.NEWTON: Kramer, the new Mission Rejected just dropped! Let's go back to my pla…
It's so goofy and I love it! So many stories out there about the best and the brightest... but the stories about the B team are even better!
Mission RejectedThank you so much! And thanks for inspiring us to really push our Animal Crossing decorations to the next level!
The Wacky Hijinks of an agency's 'B Team:' The side of spy thrillers we didn't know we needed until we got it. The show brings forth a lot of humor in their clever writing and expert delivery. All in all, this is a great show, and each episode highlights a special feature.
If you love Archer, but think it's a bit much, if you enjoyed Inspector Gadget or Get Smart, but preferred the story to the tech, or if Mission Impossible and James Bond are just a little TOO serious, then have I got the audio drama for you. This is a beautifully orchestrated podcast that has made me laugh so hard that I have had to sit down and wipe tears out of my eyes. Though the team does an absolutely amazing job of keeping the crew relatable (in an exaggerated sense) without making them one dimensional stereotypes.
An original idea for secret agents! Well, they're backups anyways. Such a good show to listen to if you like the "James Bond" type story line, only the agents are the minor league agents that tackle the missions in creative & hilarious ways!
I absolutely love this show. The wit, the amazing cast, the sound production, this one has it all. And it couldn't be a better remedy during difficult times, so give yourself a much needed laugh break. Start at the beginning, soak it in, enjoy!
Impeccably written and performed and fills the hole that Archer's decline in quality left in my heart.
Absolute hilarity that throws back to the original Get Smart series. A must listen
Mission Rejected is a fantastic example of good writing and great characterization. The thing that most sells this series for me is the focus on the team. They created a cast of fantastic characters, each unique in their needs, motivations, and personalities. They play well against one another and as a...mostly cohesive team. While often playing exaggerated characters, they still feel real and it is easy to get attached to the fantastic B Team. The writing also manages to play to classic spy tropes while turning many of them on their head. It provides a level of unpredictability when those familiar notes show up, because it may work, it may blow up, or it may spiral into a completely different direction. The creativity of the missions provides a lot of engaging content while keeping the team on their toes. Honestly, from start to finish, this show provides plenty of laughs with clever writing and a friendly team of not-quite-superspies to save the world.
Mission RejectedThank you so much for this! We’re glad you enjoy the show - season three starts this month!
I love this show! The crew is so wacky but in the best, most unorganized-organized way possible. I need more!
My word I enjoy this show. It is light and clever and well put together. If you like that concept of the rejected mission impossible crew running amok, then you will love this show. You're mission, should you choose to accept it, is to start listening to this brilliant show.
The wacky plotline, the awesome characters and amazing development, plus a healthy dose of found family and wacky cults make Mission Rejected one of my all time favorite podcasts. And it's all run by an awesome creative team who reflect the comradeship of their characters. Become one with the ocean!
Mission RejectedThank you so much!
Mission Rejected is so hilarious and full of embarrassing situations and awkward conversations that it´s surprising that the B-team of agents gets anything done. This show can really put a smile on my face and brighten up my day!
Loving the insanity that ensues whenever these guys get sent on their missions. It's always good for a laugh! The episodes are written in a way that just allows you jump in and enjoy, too!
Mission RejectedThank you so much! We hope you like today's new episode too!
A ton of fun - great writing and voice acting.
Mission RejectedThank you so much! We're glad you're listening!
Mission: Rejected is a hilarious podcast. The entire first season rates as one of the funniest audiodramas I've listened to, and the second season is shaping up to be just as funny as the first. From an outstanding cast to great stories, it is definitely a top rated show to be sure.
Too madcap for me.
Great comedy spy drama
