"The Lord Fights Our Battles"

Tomorrow ournation celebrates Memorial Day. It’s a day for us to remember those who have servedour nation in battle, especially those who gave their life to protect ourfreedoms. Maybe you’ve been to Arlington National cemetery and have seen thethousands upon thousands of graves. Or maybe you’ll remember a relative thathas served and given their life in battle. Across the country millions ofAmericans remember the battles that have been fought, and the lives lost – andwe thank every single one of our servicemen and women for protecting ourcountry and freedoms.In our Old Testament lesson, there was a battle thatwas fought on a new frontier for God’s people. Joshua and the Israelites werethere – but more importantly as we’ll hear, so was the Lord. Yes, the Lordfought the battle of Jericho, and TheLord Fights Our Battles still today.
