The Marine Ecology Research Centre (MERC) builds on the internationally recognised marine research of the Coral Reef Research Centre and the Whale Research Centre at SCU, and its Director is Professor Peter Harrison. The MERC team includes more than 20 marine researchers and many postgraduate students within the School of Environmental Science and Management based at the SCU Lismore Campus and the National Marine Science Centre in Coffs Harbour.
