Kim Korven is an unlikely advocate of peaceful divorce. She was competitive in judo and for many years, a practicing attorney. One would expect she would enjoy conflict. Yet when her marriage was not working, she was nearly overcome with anxiety and a desire to avoid conflict with her spouse altogether. Thus, she remained married when she knew in her heart her family would be better if they separated. Traditional divorce terrified her. She knew all too well what it looked like through an attorney’s eyes.
