1:18
see something that makes us feel all right about
1:21
Keontae George's rookie year slumps? Next

1:40
Your team every day. Are
1:44
you? I'm David Locke, radio voice to
1:46
the Utah Jazz Jazz MBA insider. This
1:48
is Locked on Jazz. Today, we look back
1:50
at Jamal Murray's rookie year, compare it
1:53
to Keontae George's rookie year, and maybe
1:55
take a deep breath and not worry
1:57
about Keontae George's struggles quite as much.
2:00
and look at Jamal Murray's path. We
2:02
look, Denver Nuggets are in town, 15
2:04
and a half point favorites. They are the best
2:06
in the NBA and the Western Conference. What
2:09
was their path to get here?
2:11
It's actually pretty linear. It's pretty
2:14
incredible. The Murray-Yokich combination, why
2:16
they are so special in the clutch this year, they're
2:18
even better and how they got to be the
2:21
number one combo in the NBA. Plus, it's a trends
2:23
Tuesday. I know it used to be a trends Monday,
2:25
but it's a trends Tuesday today. So we're looking at
2:27
all those things on today's edition of Locked on Jazz.
2:30
As I mentioned, I'm David Locke, radio
2:32
voice of the Utah Jazz, Jazz MBA
2:35
Insider. And this is Locked on Jazz.
2:37
It's your daily podcast on the Utah

2:57
You can probably find us on Amazon Fire TV
2:59
as well, which I'm loading up right now.
3:03
And to the
3:05
everydayers, you're the best. I've only got
3:07
like three stickers left and I've not
3:09
reordered them, but I will try to
3:11
remember to bring these three
3:13
stickers to the game today, so whoever stops by,
3:16
Ben Russell, our audio engineer, will
3:18
be there for you. All right,
3:22
let's look at Jamal Murray
3:24
for a moment and see if this can relieve us
3:27
of some of the concerns that
3:29
people are having about our guy, Keontae George,
3:32
in some of his shooting. So one thing you've heard me
3:35
say is that if you go under 40% from
3:37
the field, and you
3:39
go under 33% from three in your rookie year,
3:42
the path to success gets slim. There
3:45
aren't a lot of guys. Well, Jamal Murray was 40.4%
3:47
from the field and
3:51
33.4% from three. He
3:57
came out of Kentucky. Grew
4:00
up in Canada, great story with
4:02
his dad working him out all the time. Bunch of...
4:04
And he came out of Kentucky
4:07
where he did shoot it well. He
4:09
shot 45% for the field and 41% from three. And
4:14
so he did have that track
4:16
record, but he's similar to Chiante,
4:18
had a little bit of a
4:20
tough rookie here. Chiante is now
4:22
down to 38.6 field goal percentage
4:25
and 33% from three. He's
4:27
similar really. And on
4:31
the 16-17 Denver Nuggets when Jamal
4:33
Murray was a rookie, he... Jamal
4:37
Murray played about 20 minutes a
4:39
game. He started
4:41
intermittently early and late, but not
4:43
in the middle. So he didn't
4:46
have anywhere near the burden that
4:48
he had, that Chiante's
4:51
had on this team. And that 16-17
4:53
team was pretty good. Mike Malone was
4:55
the head coach. They
4:57
were good offensively, they were fourth best offensive team, they were
4:59
just bad defensively. And it
5:01
was a team that had Danilo Gallinari and Gary
5:03
Harris and Wilson Chandler and Will Barton and
5:06
Nicole Jokic and Jamal and Jamir
5:08
Nelson and they had Emmanuel Moudier
5:10
still and Jamal
5:12
Murray. And by the way, this is actually
5:14
what I think is one of the most
5:16
important things when you look at the
5:19
path of the Denver Nuggets is
5:23
they drafted Jamal Murray when they already
5:25
had Emmanuel Moudier. They drafted Nicole Jokic
5:28
when they already had Yusuf Nurkic. They
5:31
did a bunch of, you know what,
5:33
we're going to go see if we can find... Just
5:35
because we have a guy at that position doesn't mean
5:37
there's not one better we can go find. And they
5:39
drafted on top of people with great success. By
5:42
Murray's second year, he started
5:45
his 80 games in the 17-18 season and
5:47
he really began to
5:52
show signs. He was the eighth voted eighth
5:54
in motion-proof player. And he shot 45%, 38% from
5:56
three. So
5:58
it was a really... you knew quickly that there
6:01
was an immediate turnaround and that there was legitimately
6:03
something here. He was playing 32 minutes a night.
6:06
And so from a Chianti standpoint, where we
6:08
look at key and kind of some of his struggles
6:10
right now, and you know, Ben Anderson
6:12
is of the zone has pointed
6:14
out. Hey, it's ever since Jordan
6:16
Clarkson went off the stop playing and I've pointed out
6:18
it's ever since Lowry Mark and you know,
6:21
whatever it is in the last 17 games, it's
6:23
just been a real challenge for Chianti.
6:25
You can stretch it back and you go to January 1st
6:27
and the challenge still exists. So there, you know, let's I
6:29
don't want to be completely ignorant
6:33
to that there were some struggles
6:35
beforehand. If you can kind of decide where you want
6:37
to choose with Chianti right now in his last 44
6:39
games, he's shooting 39.7 and 32.3. So you know, but
6:44
if you really that's a little unfair because
6:47
you're going to take out that stretch when
6:49
he played really well, but you do get
6:51
into the stretch where post all-star break, you
6:53
know, Jordan's not playing much Chianti is not
6:55
playing much. You come back and
6:57
he has the bird since the last 15 games
7:00
when he's really had the bird and he's shooting 37% and 26% from three that
7:02
is drop and he's
7:06
playing 33 minutes night. He's exhausted
7:08
mentally and physically. He doesn't have anyone
7:10
else to carry the load and his numbers are plummeting
7:12
because of it. So his rookie year
7:15
experience is just much more difficult
7:18
than what Jamal Murray had to do as a
7:20
19 year old out of Kentucky. I do
7:22
think there are some real similarities
7:24
though in one body size into how
7:26
they came into league. Now mentality wise,
7:28
I don't know enough about Chianti yet.
7:31
Jamal Murray kind of mentality
7:33
is pretty well documented on just
7:36
kind of this relentless work ethic.
7:38
His father, uh, kind
7:41
of taking him through the tasks
7:43
as a, as a kid
7:45
and, and him, you know, out
7:48
at night in the Canadian cold
7:50
and all the work and kind of insanity
7:52
of it all. Um, and
7:54
when you look at Jamal Murray, this is something we're
7:56
gonna talk about a lot, but it
7:58
takes a while to understand. the pick and roll.
8:01
So if we look at Jamal Murray and we look at
8:03
him 16 17 17 18 18 19 19 20 then he
8:05
goes he misses the 20 21 season and then we have
8:07
to wait a second he might miss the 21 22 season
8:12
and then you look at his points per
8:14
pick and roll. This
8:21
is where we've talked about this before.
8:23
I think you have to begin
8:26
to understand what the burden is upon.
8:28
So on Kia. So if
8:30
you look at Jamal Murray and his rookie year his points per
8:32
pick and roll on a good team was point 94 points
8:35
per chance. His next year was
8:37
point 94 his next year was
8:39
point 93 and what I've said is it seems
8:41
to take about three to 5000 pick
8:44
and rolls before you get over
8:46
one point per possession which
8:48
is a really high level pick and
8:50
roll anything better. And that's exactly what
8:53
it was for Jamal Murray his fourth
8:55
season as a pick
8:57
and roll guard playing when he
8:59
started the year at four thousand
9:04
four hundred and eighty three pick and rolls
9:06
in his first three seasons of the year
9:08
and he averaged point 93 points
9:10
per pick and roll on his first four 5000 pick
9:12
and rolls. He
9:15
basically averaged point 93 and then in the
9:17
1920 season in his
9:19
fourth season at 5000 pick and
9:21
rolls he suddenly went to one
9:23
point one point oh and
9:25
then one point oh one point oh one
9:27
point oh four and this
9:29
year's at one point oh three as a
9:32
fairly dominating guard and maybe the best
9:34
combination in the NBA. So when we look
9:36
at Chianti the relevance to this is first
9:38
off yes you can have the year Chianti
9:41
is having to start the year certainly
9:43
he's below some thresholds in Jamal Murray but
9:45
his burdens been much higher and
9:47
you have to look at Jamal Murray and the first
9:49
thing is we should see some signs next year. Jamal
9:53
Murray turned it around pretty quickly
9:55
to 32 minutes a night they knew what they had
9:58
but you know even his third year. He shoots just 44% from
10:00
the field and 37% from three. And
10:03
it's not until, frankly, in the bubble against
10:05
Donovan that he really fully explodes in
10:08
those great games in 2020 that
10:12
he comes into his own and then he's
10:14
a totally different player. And they unfortunately tears his ACL in 2021, 22.
10:20
So when you look at that, that's the first thing is
10:22
that, yes, I think you can. The second thing is it
10:24
takes time. It takes 5,000 pick and rolls. I'm
10:27
gonna do this study for you this summer. We'll keep talking about
10:29
this. You'll hear this a lot. It's 5,000
10:31
pick and rolls for a guard to
10:33
be able to come through this. How do you
10:35
get to the level of Jokic and Murray? We'll
10:37
talk about that. And the linear path that the
10:40
Denver Nuggets have taken to get to be number
10:42
one is a good model. They come in tonight,
10:44
a 15 and a half
10:46
point favorite against the Utah Jazz. That
10:48
game will be on Sirius XM as
10:50
well as on the Jazz app and
10:52
on the zone for you. We'll just
10:55
get started. We'll look at that combination
10:57
of Murray and Jokic and the Nuggets
10:59
linear, not Rocky, pure
11:01
linear path to a championship
11:03
that they took under Michael Malone. That's all coming
11:05
up as we continue here on Lockdown Jazz. Today's
11:10

14:02
big stories. I'm sure we'll see locked on Yukon there
14:05
before. Oh that game was tough. Thank
14:08
goodness for the women's game this week. Alright
14:11
let's get to
14:13
it. Denver's
14:15
path is we hear
14:18
all about the pain and the suffering. I'm
14:20
actually a believer a little bit that
14:22
the untalked about thing in this league is
14:24
the scars that you get from losing and that teams
14:27
don't recover from them. So if
14:29
you look at Denver Michael
14:31
Malone becomes the head coach in 16-17 and
14:34
realizes he has something
14:36
with Jokic in
14:39
15-16. 16-17 is Jamal's rookie year and
14:42
Jamal plays the ninth most amount of minutes on
14:44
the roster. He plays 82 games he's 18 years
14:46
old he and Emmanuel Moudier kind of split time
14:48
and it becomes clear that
14:51
this is not Emmanuel Moudier's team
14:53
and so the next year they
14:56
led by Gary Harris and Will Barton and Jokic
14:59
now Murray is their fourth leading minutes player and
15:01
up to 17 points a game
15:03
and they have Wilson Chandler and
15:05
Paul Milsap and you know they're two best
15:07
players and now 22 and 20 with
15:10
some veteran players surrounding them but
15:12
those are and Moudier suddenly starts to
15:16
go down and they've made an unfortunate trade where
15:18
they just trade Donovan Mitchell to the Utah Jazz
15:20
which is good for us but bad for them.
15:22
So 17-18 they win 46 games and they
15:27
don't make the playoffs and there's a lot of
15:29
talk in the history of the Nuggets that they
15:31
actually look back at this year they played the
15:33
82nd game of the year against the
15:35
Minnesota Timberwolves to make the playoffs and they
15:37
lose in overtime and in many ways they
15:39
believe that's their like moment
15:41
that seals them to become
15:44
this team. The next year they vault
15:46
up to 54 wins so this
15:48
is now Jamal Murray's third year. Jokic
15:51
is now in I think his fourth
15:53
or fifth year they're becoming a
15:56
true combination and they
15:58
jump to 54. So they
16:00
go from from 33 in
16:02
Yoke just first year Jamal's years 40
16:05
then they go to 46 then they
16:07
go to 54 wins and
16:09
they win their first playoffs years
16:11
with a commanding game seven win
16:13
against the San Antonio Spurs before
16:16
losing in game seven of the
16:18
Western Conference semi finals to the Portland Trailblazers. So
16:21
they're kind of they're on their road at
16:23
that point and they've now Jamal
16:25
Murray is the team he's played their most minutes.
16:27
Yoke it's their second Harris
16:29
Barton Milsap Morris Beasley they're kind of
16:32
fiddling with pieces muti is long gone
16:34
now they may end up trading everyone by
16:37
the time it's done. The next year is
16:39
the bubble and they come
16:41
back to beat the jazz in which is the series
16:44
you just wonder like had Mike Connelly shotgun in and
16:46
the jazz been able to close that series out if
16:48
George Hill and the Bucks hadn't pressed the ball. And
16:50
the Bucks hadn't protested would and not stop those bubble
16:52
for a day. They
16:55
also come from behind given credit they also come from
16:57
behind against the LA Clippers in the next years and
16:59
they go to the Western Conference Finals so it's
17:02
very linear right they they lose game 82 they
17:04
get to the playoffs they win a series and
17:06
lose the second round they take one more step
17:08
and get to the Western Conference Finals. They're
17:11
on a very very linear path to who they
17:13
are as a basketball team at this point and
17:15
their roster is now will Barton Jamal Murray nickel
17:17
Yoke each Gary Harris and Jeremy Grant kind of
17:19
gets added in and then in 2021 Jamal
17:22
Murray gets her. And
17:26
this is where I think 48 games of the
17:28
season they're rolling and Jamal Murray
17:30
gets her and they were probably the
17:32
best arguably the best team in the
17:34
league they just traded for Aaron Gordon.
17:38
They were rolling they were about 15 games
17:41
above 500 or so and
17:44
Jamal Murray goes down with that horrific torn
17:46
ACL. They actually find a way to
17:48
win a playoff series and they get swept by Phoenix
17:50
in the next round in the 2122 season Jamal Murray
17:52
has never placed Yoke it's just so great
17:54
they still win 48 games and they
17:57
lose in the first round and this is
17:59
where I think people missed. the route of
18:01
the Denver Nuggets to the championship as they
18:03
talk about these two years, they shouldn't be
18:05
talked about. Jamal Murray is not there. I
18:08
mean, Jokic proves how great he is at this point
18:10
because they have the six best offense in the NBA
18:12
and they don't have Jamal Murray. So
18:15
that to me is like if you ever
18:17
wanted to know when Jokic became Jokic, that's
18:19
it. Because his best second
18:21
best plan, it seems will Barton and Aaron
18:23
Gordon's probably right in there also.
18:26
I mean, and they're still the six best offense
18:28
in the NBA. But the fact is, that's not
18:30
a linear progression. The linear progression is
18:32
that if you actually go back and look at
18:34
the Nuggets franchise with Jamal
18:37
Murray, so
18:39
they lose that game 82 to Minnesota. The next
18:41
year they win their first playoff series, losing
18:44
the second round. The next year they win. They
18:46
come back to beat the jazz and the Clippers.
18:48
They go to the conference finals. The next time
18:50
they're all together again for the playoffs, they go
18:52
to the finals. Like I
18:54
think what's super important about this team is
18:56
it has no scars. The
18:59
jazz had those terrible playoff scars and
19:01
frankly never overcame them. The Phoenix Suns
19:03
had playoff scars and never overcame them
19:06
under Chris Paul. The L. A. Clippers had
19:08
playoff scars with Chris Paul and never overcame
19:10
them. Everyone talks about how you
19:12
have to do what Boston did where they lost to
19:14
Chicago, a bunch of tie or Detroit and broke through
19:16
or whatever it was. Detroit had to be Boston to
19:18
break through in the Chicago. Maybe maybe
19:21
in that era, but in this year, I think
19:23
it's the opposite. I think it's the you end
19:25
up with the scars. It's really it's
19:28
a promise where, frankly, I think the Rudy
19:30
Gobert trade by Minnesota was brilliant because they were
19:32
beginning to get some scars where the cruise apps
19:34
for Zingus trade by Brad Stevens was brilliant. It's
19:37
in Drew Holiday. It changed who that team is.
19:39
It's not the same team. You're not looking at
19:41
the locker room thinking it's the same team. The
19:43
scars to me in this league
19:45
are as big a deal as anything else. And
19:49
that when you suddenly see the teams that have
19:51
Miami doesn't really have the scars, right? They've been
19:53
to the finals. Now, maybe they maybe they're beginning
19:55
to show signs of the fact that they they
19:57
lost in the finals. They've lost some things they
19:59
don't. don't seem to be quite right. Golden
20:01
State has held this thing together, obviously. But
20:04
if you kind of look back at Golden
20:06
State in their championship run, they didn't have
20:08
scars. They
20:11
didn't have scars either, right? They're Mark Jacksons,
20:13
their head coach. They
20:15
go to the conference semifinals. Their first time in the
20:17
playoffs, they go from 23-47 because Steph takes off. They
20:22
win their first playoff series. They lose their second. The next year,
20:25
they lose the first round. They fire
20:27
Mark Jackson, and then they go
20:29
to the NBA Finals. And
20:31
they haven't lost a playoff series until last
20:34
year other than the NBA Finals. They
20:37
have no scars. So
20:39
one of the things I think that's most important about that
20:42
path is it's scarless. And
20:45
that's where I think this gets super tricky. And
20:49
I don't know how you build a scarless path, but
20:51
it is worth doing. It's also why I think you
20:53
have to shake teams up, like if we look back
20:55
at the Jazz, in retrospect, the one
20:57
thing I would say on the Quinn Snyder era of
20:59
the Jazz is we just may
21:01
have ridden Joe Ingalls, Royce O'Neill, Derek Favre, these
21:03
guys we liked so much too long is that
21:05
they were all part of the scars. And
21:08
you had to do something the way Boston has
21:11
with Christoph Sperzingis and Drew Hollis. It just dramatically
21:13
changes the team. Milwaukee
21:17
has a title and then some bad
21:19
playoff losses. It's going to be interesting
21:21
to see because right now, it
21:24
doesn't feel good there. Now,
21:28
I think Chris Middleton's injuries are making it a problem and
21:30
Doc Rivers doesn't seem to have a grasp on what that
21:32
team is and there's all sorts of issues going on there.
21:34
We'll see when they get to the playoffs, what happens. But
21:37
it's an interesting concept. All
21:40
right, how much of Jamal
21:42
Murray and Chris Datsby, Jamal
21:45
Murray and Nicholas Jokic played together to become
21:47
this awesome. It's
21:49
amazing. And we'll have it for you next. And
21:51
then we will check on Trends
21:55
Tuesday as well. It's all coming up on today's
21:57
edition of Lockdown Jazz. Today's
22:01
edition is brought to you by Game Time.
22:05
Love my game time. Matt
22:07
Moore is actually on my big screen right
22:09
now, tells a great story that he and
22:11
his wife are in Colorado are huge Avalanche
22:13
fans. And they'll literally sit at their
22:15
house with their game time app and just watch the
22:17
prices. And if the prices get to the right number,
22:20
they go to a game. And if they
22:22
don't, they don't. And they
22:24
just monitor it, monitor it, monitor it. I tried it
22:26
when I was in Denver, they were playing, but they
22:28
were playing a rival on a
22:30
Friday night and I never got the prices down
22:32
to the number I wanted to. But that's why
22:35
the game time app is so great. And with
22:37
the code locked on NBA, you can get $20
22:39
off on game time right now. Here's some of
22:41
the reasons why game time is so super. First
22:43
of all, if you're looking to go to a
22:46
Major League Baseball game or any other big time
22:48
event, they are there for you right
22:50
now. You can customize your
22:53
spot through the app to what you
22:55
want. You can get last minute deals, flash deals, zone
22:57
deals. What I was just talking about, easy to find
22:59
and buy MLB tickets for every kind of event or
23:01
anywhere. So if you're heading to go see a game
23:03
in Seattle, going to see a game in San Diego,
23:05
want to see a game in LA, you can use
23:07
game time to get that done. Easy.
23:11
You get a view from all your seats and
23:13
you get lowest price guaranteed events, cast cancellation protection
23:15
and job loss protection. A ton of
23:17
the locked on hosts use it all the time. They were talking to
23:19
me over there like they cannot. The lowest
23:21
price protection is so real. 100%
23:23
different, 110% difference if you find things lower. None of
23:25
them have been able to find a ticket lower than
23:28
game time. One of them was coming in the game
23:30
time app and so great because I don't have to
23:32
worry about, I don't have to check four different apps
23:34
to see what the best price is when I know
23:36
game time always has it. So use the code locked
23:39
on NBA for $20 off your first purchase. Terms
23:41
apply. Again, create your account and redeem the
23:43
code locked on NBA for $20. Download
23:45
the game time app today. Last minute ticket
23:47
deals lowest price guaranteed. Hi,
23:50
I'm Jake from lockdown. There's a lot to
23:52
say when buying a new home or car,
23:54
but really the first words you wanna say
23:56
are, like a good neighbor, State Farm is
23:58
there. And trust me, as someone named Jake,
24:01
that is a fact. That's the
24:03
phrase that will help you feel good knowing
24:05
that you have people who could help you
24:07
find the right coverage for the things you
24:09
wanna protect. Insurance doesn't need to be complicated
24:11
with a State Farm agent. With so many
24:13
coverage options, it feels good knowing you can
24:15
find what fits you because... your
24:17
situation is unique. And
24:20
State Farm is there to help you feel
24:22
supported with the coverage you need for your
24:24
car, your home, and even boats, motorcycles, RVs,
24:26
and other things that matter to you. And
24:28
when you need ways to get help, don't
24:30
yell or be angry because State Farm gives
24:33
you options there too. In person or on
24:35
the phone with your local agent or on
24:37
statefarm.com or their award winning app, State Farm
24:39
lets you do things your way. So when
24:41
you need help protecting the things that matter
24:43
most, remember to say, like a good neighbor,
24:46
State Farm is there. Thanks
24:51
so much for making Locked on Jazz your first listen
24:53
of the day. Jazz Nuggets tonight. Ron and I will
24:55
be on the call. We've nursed Ron back to health.
24:59
And look forward to having you with us. Please join us. We
25:01
still have a great time every single night. All right, so
25:03
since Jamal Murray came in the
25:05
league in 2016,
25:08
the most pick and rolls in the
25:11
NBA have
25:15
been run by Trey Young and
25:17
Clint Capella, 3,120. The
25:23
second most amount of pick and rolls in
25:25
that time period are Chris Paul and DeAndre
25:27
Ayton. It's
25:30
kind of funny, back to 3,112. The
25:35
third most are Jamal Murray and
25:38
Nikola Jokic, 2,398 pick
25:40
and rolls run between the two of them. 2,398
25:47
on their second pick and roll of the
25:49
night will
25:53
be their 2,400th pick and roll
25:55
together of their careers. So
25:58
not only does Jamal Murray need to run 5,000. in
26:00
his career, but he's run 2,500
26:02
almost with
26:05
Jamal Murray. Interesting, I just thought this was
26:07
worth noting. The number three is Mike Conley
26:09
and Rudy Gobert at
26:12
2,308. I
26:15
thought this was actually a super interesting list. Darius
26:17
Garland, Jared Allen is five. De'Aaron Fox,
26:20
Damaris Sabonis is six. And
26:22
then a bunch of Chicago Bulls
26:25
of the group that
26:27
has run over 1,000 pick
26:29
and rolls together. These
26:32
groupings are not all together, but this is since Jamal
26:35
Murray came into the league. So those that
26:37
have run 1,000 pick and rolls together.
26:40
The number one combination is
26:42
Tyreese Halberton and Miles Turner.
26:46
So I thought that was, I was surprised by that, but that
26:49
tells you what level Indiana is functioning right now
26:51
in the league's offense. Steph
26:54
and Kayvon Looney, Steph and Draymond Green are two and three. So
26:56
it's funny, you don't think they run a lot of pick and
26:58
roll, but they have run at least 1,000. Luca
27:00
and Dwight Powell, Dame Lillard and Yusef Dirk,
27:02
it's James Harden, Joelle Embiid, and then Jamal
27:05
Murray and Nicola Jokic are
27:08
the seventh best out
27:10
of the 40 groups
27:12
that have run 1,000 pick and
27:15
rolls together. There's 40 groupings. The worst, by the
27:17
way, is De'Jante Murray and Clint Capella and then
27:19
Jalen Green and Alprens Shinkun, if you're wondering. And
27:21
Darius Garland and Jared Allen and Evan Mobley are
27:23
two of the worst as well. So that's kind
27:25
of an interesting little note that they've
27:27
actually run that many. So
27:31
just kind of an issue note. All right, well, that's their pick and
27:33
rolls. So there's got, oh, but wait
27:36
a sec. What they actually run most of the
27:38
time is handoffs. And
27:40
Jamal Murray and Nicola Jokic have
27:43
run 1,062 handoffs. 1,162
27:50
handoffs. There
27:57
are only 30. people
28:00
that have run 245 or more. There's actually only 26
28:02
that run 250 and they've
28:04
run 1,162. So
28:12
you take their pick and roll combination and
28:15
their handoffs and
28:17
they have combined to
28:20
run 3,560 combinations together.
28:28
When Chianti George rolls into a pick and roll with Omer, York,
28:30
Save & Tonight, they're going to be on like their 19th. 3,560
28:32
pick and rolls
28:36
or handoffs together. And
28:45
then if you want to get into it, like I don't
28:47
even know where the breaking point is because they've run so
28:49
many more than anyone else. But if we decide it's 250,
28:51
as I just said, so there's only
28:56
28 groups that have actually run that
28:58
money. The number one is actually Darius Garland and
29:00
Jared Allen, which is super interesting how much better
29:02
they are in pick and roll. But the Jamal
29:04
Murray and Nick Leokert are the six best. Steph
29:08
Curry, Draymond Green, Tyrese Halliburton, or
29:10
Tyrese Maxie, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker,
29:12
DeAndre Ayton, Seth Curry,
29:15
Ben Simmons, surprising, and
29:17
Jamal Murray, Nick Leokert, Jaylen
29:20
Brunson, and Julius Randall, Tyrese Halliburton, Miles
29:22
Turner. Tyrese Halliburton, Miles Turner,
29:24
two-man game NBA playoffs could be really interesting to
29:26
watch, by the way. That's kind of, of
29:29
those that have run it the most, Malcolm Brogdon,
29:31
which the bonus was the worst, McKell Bridges with
29:33
Nick Claxton's not great, RJ Barrett, which Jaylen Brunson
29:35
wasn't great. But
29:39
there's the difference. At
29:41
this point, and where does it
29:43
show up? I don't
29:45
know if I have if I got my numbers
29:47
printed out or not, but in clutch time this
29:49
year, the Denver Nuggets
29:52
in the clutch this year are so
29:54
far, are 26 and 13. I
29:58
mean, they are just so far and away. the best team in the
30:00
league in clutch, 26 and 13. Cause
30:04
Jamal Murray and Nikole Jokic are just
30:06
masters together. Absolute
30:08
100% masters. All
30:13
right. Uh, quickly trend. We
30:16
like to do trends. So
30:19
let's take a look at our trends last
30:21
two weeks. We'll do last 10
30:23
games in last two weeks of teams and
30:25
see where they look, what they look at right now and how
30:27
they look. The
30:30
number one offense in the last 10 games, the Boston Celtics
30:35
followed by the Indiana Pacers, the New York
30:37
Knicks, the LA Clippers, the Denver Nuggets, the
30:41
last 10 games and the Atlanta Hawks.
30:44
The teams that can't score right now are Detroit,
30:46
Portland, Toronto, Memphis, Washington, San Antonio. None of the
30:48
bottom teams are not surprising. Number
30:50
one defense in the NBA, the last 10 games is
30:52
the Dallas Mavericks followed by
30:54
the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic,
30:56
Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Nuggets have
30:59
clicked in. Charlotte
31:01
is the worst defense in the NBA. The last 10 games were
31:03
29th, Toronto, 28th, Cleveland, 27th. Interesting
31:06
on Cleveland, Houston and Oklahoma
31:08
city slides
31:10
in there at 25th. Best overall team,
31:12
Dallas, Boston, Dallas, Minnesota,
31:14
Miami, Denver, New York, the
31:17
bottom Toronto, Utah, Detroit, Charlotte and
31:19
Portland. And over the last
31:21
two weeks. Oh,
31:31
sorry, pushed a button wrong. Over
31:35
the last two weeks, dun dun
31:37
dun dun, exciting. The number
31:39
one team in the NBA, Boston, followed by
31:41
Dallas, Minnesota, Golden State, Minnesota, or wait a
31:43
sec, Dallas, Miami, Golden State,
31:45
Minnesota and Indiana, top
31:48
offense, New York, Boston,
31:50
Indiana, Miami, Philadelphia, Joel
31:52
back and Dallas. Bottom
31:56
offense is Portland, Detroit, Memphis, Washington
31:58
and Utah. Best
32:01
defense Minnesota Dallas Golden State
32:03
Miami Orlando Denver so Denver
32:05
has totally clicked
32:08
in and Toronto Cleveland Charlotte
32:10
Utah 27th defensively Houston
32:12
and Oklahoma City interesting to see okay see that
